Grommits new cage

Sorry I only just caught up on this! They are a pain to put together the first time, but once you've done it once it gets much quicker and easier! It helps to practice putting it together and pulling it apart a few times. If the plastic joiner strip is in the middle of the orange ends, then when you push the front and back part together firmly there won't be a gap. But if the plastic joiner strip isn't quite in the middle you'll get the buckling at one side and a gap at the other.

Honestly once you've done it a few times it's a piece of cake :) It's just getting used to it. It's annoying they don't come ready assembled though the first time. I just bought the 9" one recently and mine came ready assembled.

It might be an idea, when he's asleep during the day tomorrow, to have a go at taking it apart and putting it together a couple of times. Did it come with instructions?

It looks amazing in the cage by the way and I bet he loves it!
Its in the cage, it does have a bulge. He seems to love it! I want to show you in a video but it won't let me post it.
I'll take it apart tomorrow and put it back together. Everyone has really helped me. My daughter has just joined rhe forum too! Daisymay7. She has a syrian, he's called spuddy...it's a lovely forum. 😍

That's not good - the instruction leaflet is quite helpful. I had problems the first time I put mine together - because I didn't read the instructions ha ha. But it is quite easy once you get the hang of it and it goes back together easier after the first time as well.

Elusive was a great help, found a video on YouTube too
It's done and he's happy. The rest will sort

That’s great that Grommit is loving his wheel!
If you want to share a video you need to upload it to youtube then post the link here, I’d love to see one.

Great to hear your daughter has joined the forum too.

You can set the youtube video to unlisted - that way it isn't publicly viewable and only viewable where you paste the link - ie here. Glad you got the wheel sorted! Yes Exotic Nutrition (manufacturers) have an assembly video. I actually did a video review of the wheel when it first came out some years ago but it doesn't show the assembly very well.

I'll sort that out later, he doesn't seem to have eaten much last night. Hoping it's because he was busy. I thought he'd of worked up an appetite...

Do not worry, he is likely eating from his hoard. I am sure he will adjust soon. :)

Lovely to see he's using his wheel - I'm watching Millie going round her slightly smaller silent runner right now as well :)

Hurrah! Looks like he loves his wheel. Did I hear Only Fools and Horses in the background? :)

Help😒. Since we put his wheen in we've only seen him that night. He's hardly eating and he's not waking before we go upto bed at midnight.? Am I do something very wrong that I've not realised.
I'm feeding him at the same time and I talk to him but nothing wakes him??

Hmm. I wonder if it's scared him off a bit that there has been a change in the cage, even if he likes the wheel. When you say he's hardly eating - they mainly eat from their hoards rather than the food you put it. They tend to pouch food and take it to the hoard and snack in bed :-) So if there is food left, it doesn't necessarily mean he isn't eating. Do you see him in the morning at all? Do you put a bit of fresh veg out for him? They usually don't leave that and if that's gone in the morning, you'll know he's been up.

I saw him this morning as I was leaving around 830am
I gave him a small piece of red pepper last night. I can tell he ate a tiny piece but left most of it. Is rhere anything I can do? I really miss him x

Aw. I'm sorry - at least he is ok. I wonder if it's the colder nights. Mine is coming out quite late at the moment. What time do you put his food out in the evening? They can get in the habit of coming out at feeding time and you can get him out at that time, for some out of cage time.

We've had the heating on so it's nice and warm. I feed him between 7 and 8
He doesn't come out for the food so not been able to give him put of cage time

Is this the first night he hasn't been out?
