I've just found an amazing tunnel he's been busy excavating! The new enclosure looks great! and wonderful that it looks as though Grommit may have already chosen to move into the house. He’ll no doubt be super busy now exploring and making it all feel like home![]()
He's back in his house, he left it for a while but then when I fed him at 8 I saw him emerge from the house again. The tunnel was there this morning. It's about 8 inches away, it's by the door of the cage. Just ordered his wheel.Just a slight warning - sometimes they abandon the house if the top is lifted up when it’s all still a bit new to them - and go and nest somewhere else - eg dig a burrow. But I find they tend to move back in again at some point! Especially if you out a smelly treat inside snd leave a pile of toilet paper strips outside it.
I hope so. Not seen him on one yet, which is sad.I bet he is going to love his wheel.![]()
I bet he makes up for it when he gets the new one.I hope so. Not seen him on one yet, which is sad.
I really hope so, he's just woken up, clear a whole dish of grated sweet potato. After cucumber, its his favorite. I've put an empty kleenex box with bathing sand in it, he's been in it for soo longI bet he makes up for it when he gets the new one.![]()
I can't see anything on there about sweet potato not being ok?Glad he seems to be enjoying everything. He’s a lucky boy to have such a good hamster Mum!
Not sure if you’ve seen the food article on the home page. Generally with veg it’s best not to give too much - so they don’t hoard it and eat it straight away. There are lots of tips in that article. It’s called safe and unsafe foods but there is more to it than just the safe list.
