Do any of you have any experience with any of these cages? And would you recommend any of them?

No personal experience but this is a review of the Bucatstate one by Emiology:

No experience with either cage. Personally, i'd go with the Bucatstate because the MEWOOFUN has even less ventilation and no front door.
I wished they'd make them with a meshed lid.

The Bucatstate looks good. I think some Amazon reviewers complained that if it has a lot of bedding in it can pop the perspex sides out. But then other reviewers said that was the earlier model and the newer model is better. I agree with Beryl about the ventilation. The Mewoofun one doesn't have nearly enough ventilation. They've gone for a fancy flower pattern on top instead of proper ventilation!

The Bucatstate one has a lot of advantages - a front opening door for one. Hopefully the issue with bedding pushing the perpex panels out has been resolved. If not there's probably a way round it.

Is there a reason you did not think of getting another Rodipet cage? I believe the Rodipet cage has more internal space then the other two cages.

Thank you all for your answers!

Yes, we are really missing a latch! I have two boys, 8 and 5 years old, and they have a hard time interacting with Hammy :(
It is a shame, because I really love the Rodipet! The Rodipet are also 100x50x50 cm.

The Memoofun comes with a latch just like the Bucatsate.

I understand now. Once your hamster is settled I am sure your children will be able to interact with him in a playpen. :)

If you're good at diy you could maybe adapt the front to put a door in?

Personally that would be too big a challenge for me! I would go with the Bucatstate. It's a good size, has plenty of ventilation, a front door, and it's cheaper than the Rodipet LaOla. I would think 20 to 30cm of substrate would be fine. If you find it bows when you add that then I'd send it back.

These are the reviews on Amazon Uk - if you look at the 7th one down they have deep bedding and no complaints. They also say their hamster chewed out of the Mewoofun one. The second review says the sides bow with very deep bedding.

However one of the reviews says this cage is an updated version of the original one so maybe that issue has been fixed.

One of the reasons we don't have the 100cm Bucatstate on the list of suitable cages yet, is because no-one on here has tried it to recommend it! And because the reviews said the sides bowed. So if you get one, maybe you can review it (and hopefully the sides don't bow any more!).

I have the Bucatstate in both sizes. It's a good quality cage, very sturdy and well-designed. It hasn't bowed for me but I haven't used it for very long nor with very deep substrate so far.

I don't know anything about the other one, but being wood it may not be such good quality or as secure.

I'd go with the Bucatstate personally.

One thing I just remembered about the Bucatstate. If you have a Syrian there's a possibility the ventilation might not be quite enough but it should be fairly simple to replace the lid with a mesh one for extra airflow. It may be fine though, I haven't actually kept a hamster in this enclosure.

The reason I have these enclosures is for boarding gerbils to stay in if their own tank isn't portable. Recently I had 4 gerbils in the 100cm one for a couple of weeks and it got a bit smelly sometimes as the ventilation wasn't quite enough. I had to spot clean very regularly to keep on top of it. I've not had any problems with just 1 or 2 gerbils in these enclosures and 4 was really stretching the cage's capacity anyway (I wouldn't do it long term). A Syrian probably pees more than 2 gerbils so it could theoretically be an issue.

I didn't realise you had that cage Daisy! When you had gerbils in it, how deep was their bedding?

About 8 inches. You can have up to about 9 inches with the front door. I think I have the updated version and I really doubt it would bow with 9 inches of bedding as it feels very sturdy.

I did notice this review mentions the cage bulging with deep bedding and they seem to have the newer version with the different front door attachment. However it looks like they're using Aubiose or something similar which is a fairly heavy bedding, whereas I use Fitch which is lighter.

Yes that’s the one I saw. Good to hear it would be fine with 8 or 9” but sounds like that might be the limit.

Once again, thank you so much for your help, and finding reviews of the cage to show me!
I have ordered the BUCATSTATE cage and I will be aware of the weight from the bedding, and I will make a review of the cage :)
We are gonna keep the Rodipet cage for now because we are now the owners of another hamster!

We were thinking about getting another hamster in the near future, when we, yesterday, came across a little girl with a very poor living situation, and we decided to take her in.
This is her cage (and we added the sandbox, she didn't had any) :(

We will make a Wonderfull home for her in the BUCATSTATE cage, which will arrive between wednesday and friday.
I will make an introduction of her soon.
If the BUCASTATE cage is good, then maybe we will get one more, instead of the Rodipet.

Oh my goodness. I'm glad you took her in. That cage is tiny. Is it a dwarf or Syrian hamster? In the meantime you could maybe put her cage inside a playpen area or sectioned off area of the room and leave the door open so she can come in and out regularly if she wants to, but she will probably be fine for a few days just with a bit of out of cage time if she wants to come out.

Look forward to the review! I think I would struggle without a front opening door as well. I think with the wider tank style cages (eg 60 to 70cm wide/deep) top access is ok as it's less squished at the top.
