Here’s aother nice little plant I inherited from womeone who lived here before me, it makes itself at home in the cracks between the paving stones & wall of the house making a nice splash of colour in my shady front garden.

It's still hot and muggy here in Wiltshire. I just cut the grass before the forecast rain but where is it? There are supposed to be thunderstorms as well.
I love summer rain and sometimes go in the garden to get wet.

It's really pretty with interesting leaves and bright flowers but beware it self seeds and can be really invasive in places you may not want it I am constantly pulling it out where other things are being hidden by it

I don’t find it invasive at all Jain, probably depends on the conditions, it does self seed here but not overly much & It’s easy enough to remove if it gets in the way.
I think thunderstorms have been forecast for the whole country today but not sure they’re actually happening anywhere!

Our rain forecast at lunch time hasn’t come either. I know it’s been raining in Birmingham as OH is watching cricket and lots of umbrellas. I thought I heard a faint rumble of thunder in the distance recently but may have imagined it - or maybe next door moving the wheely bin!

No thunder here but the rain arrived about an hour ago. Fooled it by going out for our walk a little earlier.
Sometimes on a summer Sunday we drop in at a church that serves home made teas to raise funds. Mug of tea (small but one refill) £2 and a slice of home made cake or scones with jam& cream is £3. Choc cake for me today and coffee cake for H. So £10 for a good cause. Tray outside (you have to sit among the ancient grave stones) and watched a little cricket on the Green beside the church.
Only sad moment was to see the swan parents with 3 cygnets on the way home.

Love the front garden flowers elusive. Beautiful welcome home for you.
Once the rain has done it’s work, I hope the garden will be refreshed. Some hopeful signs with fuschia and the poppies are doing better than ever. An amazing display on both sides now, even on the shadier one, and keeping bees happy.

Your Sunday walk & stop off at the church sounds lovely Coco, great to have some rain too, still waiting here….
It is sad that the swans seem to have lost one of the cygnets though, hope the three remaining ones continue to thrive.
I actually remembered to check on my fuchsia yesterday & it looks really healthy, just have to remember to give it a good soak now, that might make it rain!

We have rain. Started about half an hour ago. Not heavy but wet! Ie not light drizzle .

It's raining! Yay! I just had a good sniff around the garden. Love the smell and feel of rain.

I could do with some ground coverage in the front garden, so will look into this one, especially as it's yellow too 
I'm Essex way and we've had rain from around 5pm for a couple of hours but not as heavy as we were expecting and no storm yet. It's still really humid and muggy though.

I like the periwinkles for ground cover. They really spread and fill in gaps, they’re evergreen and have lovely blue flowers. Mine in the pot never got planted - hopefully it will when I get some help with the digging! It’s to go in the front. The one in the back I had got killed off by the ground elder. I had it at a previous house and it filled an empty patch of soil nicely. Vinca minor is the one for ground cover but Vinca major looks really nice in a bed anyway and spreads too.
