That is what confused me. Sorry Albert. I should have paid closer attention. I thought they only contained pure meat. Oops.
No need to say sorry. All the confusion made me giggle 😂 I'm just waiting for Beryl to come back on and confuse it some more 😂

No parsley in this one. Nothing wrong with parsley. Hamsters can eat parsley.

Oh. Use within 14 days! Why, didn't think that dried food could go off.

I keep mine for ages, I was aware of that but mine have never gone off.

How much and how often can I feed Albert them? I'm concerned about the 14 day used by.

I feed one a week but Orko just seems to hide his. Hopefully Albert will like them.

That's partly why I stopped getting freeze dried meat! I think the packet lasts a long time but once it's opened it has a short shelf life. I did have some chicken ones (cat ones) and they smelled absolutely foul when they went off - I decided it was too much hassle. You'll know if they go off though. I think it's something to do with the airtight packaging preserves them but not once the air gets in.

Thats a good point! I thought they would be okay in an airtight container. When I first opened them he ignored it for a while.
I've decided to give them a miss. It's not cost effective when I've only got Albert. I won't use them all up before they go off.

Should be - I've used it before! Having said that - none of mine have ever touched it! Raffy still ignores any sprays though, including the Rosewood pick n fly ones. Dwarf hamsters may be more millet orientated perhaps :) Pip doesn't touch his either though but it isn't that brand of red millet that he has.

I keep mine for months with no problems at all, I only break off a tiny piece which usually gets eaten at once rather than hidden in the cage.
I know it does sound worrying the 14 day thing but I’ve been using them for a few years now & it’s been fine.
