For my dwarf hamster i already had multiple wheels. She poos in her wheel, so a wooden or kork wheel isn't a good option.
I like a plastic (transparant) wheel, and had this one for her: https://www.amazon.nl/dp/B08FC85414?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
a 25cm niteangel wheel.
the problem is, that it is already broke after 3 months. The wheel is made from two piexes, besides the standard, it has a vertical part, and then the running part attached.
the running part came loose from the vertical part (the backside of the wheel)
What is a better option now? I would love to have a transparant plastic wheel, wit adjustable hight and the running- and back part made out one piece.....

it is hard to see on the pictures, but maybe one of you has these wheels, are they made out of one piece?

also, what would be the best size for a russian dwarf hamster, is 21cm big enough, or is bigger better?

I think you should contact Niteangel because the wheel should not break so quickly. They have very good customer service and will be able to help you. I have that wheel for my dwarf hamster and I think it is brilliant. I am unsure what you mean by the bit that has become lose. If it cannot be tightened then I am sure Niteangel will help.

I personally only use Niteangel wheels. I agree that the cork lined wheels are not much good if the hamster toilets in the wheel.

The second wheel you linked has mixed reviews with some loving it and some not. I have never heard of the first wheel.

I already returned the wheel and it is refunded.
See picture. It just came loose while cleaning.

Is that not able to come off to be cleaned? If not perhaps you just had a faulty wheel. Mine has been going great for 7 months now.

I don't know, but i could not put it back together again.

yes, and i would be worried about it happening again, maybe while she is running in it.
she could get a nail stuck between the parts maybe....

Does your hamster pee or poop in the wheel?mine did, maybe it started to come loose due to the urine that came between the parts ?

I cannot see anywhere a hamster could get a nail stuck in that wheel.

Many hamsters toilet in their wheel but do you take the wheel apart and wash it really well often? Perhaps just wiping it daily with a damp tissue then a dry one is better. I am lucky as my hamster never toilets on his wheel.

Oh! I was just checking the pictures carefully and I see the transparent wheel is different! The wooden circle in the centre has a silt above it. I have the green wheel and this different. If you have a look at the colourful wheels you can see the centre is not the same. Maybe the issue is with the transparent design.

when looking at the green wheel, it think it is made in the same way. the green part you see in the picture came loose from the transparent part.

I am not sure why my wheel has never come apart. Perhaps you could try the Bucastate wheel then as you want a transparent wheel. Which wheel is your hamster using at the moment?

I don’t have any experience with those wheels so can’t really comment, this is the wheel I’ve used for all my Russian & Chinese hamsters for quite a few years now.
They’re really good wheels, easy to clean (all my hamsters pee, poo & take food & sand into the wheel!) very well made & I’ve never had any issues with them, they do seem to be very expensive compared to other wheels where you are but they generally quite expensive anyway.

That has happened to me before too - not a Niteangel wheel but a similar thing. I wouldn't use either of the two you linked in your first post, personally, because they both have slits at the back and to me that could be a risk of a hamster getting a foot caught - they sometimes do daft things in wheels.

The silent runner that Elusive linked is a good wheel :) It's safe and won't fall apart. It may not be quite so easy to clean as an open wheel but most of the time you can just give it a wipe inside and only take it apart for a full clean occasionally. As with many silent wheels though it's best not to submerge the back part (with the ball bearings) in water or the ball bearings can go rusty or fail (but you can get replacements for the silent runner wheels). I always found the back part easy enough to wash without submerging it in water completely :-)

There aren't many open wheels apart from cork lined ones, but I did get this one from Getzoo that is quite good - it's mostly plastic except for the cork running track - but the cork is removable and replaceable. If you plastikote the cork running track it would be wipe clean (which is what I do as I like the cork running tracks :-) But with it being all plastic it would be easy to wash and clean. The stand is wood even though the wheel is plastic. It's about 10" internal diameter. It's nicer than it looks when you see the real thing! And it's safe "food safe" plastic as well. It's also quite a bit cheaper than niteangel wheels - but about the same price as the silent runner wheel.

If you want a really easy plastic wheel to clean, the Trixie plastic one is quite cheap! I have that in the playpen/free roaming area. It's not a silent wheel but mine is virtually silent.

It comes in 20cm or 28cm - I think these days they think a wheel should be 21 cm for a dwarf hamster so you might want to get the larger one but the 20cm would probably be fine.

The front just pulls off and it's very easy to wash and clean and no ball bearings to worry about!

Or - there is the Rodipet Heureka wheel :) It's quite expensive but easy to clean. The stand is metal but I think the wheel itself is a kind of hard plastic. I haven't seen one myself but they are suitable for dwarf hamsters as well as Syrians and are silent wheels as well. There's a video of a dwarf hamster running in it on the link. It does say please don't get the ball bearings wet again though.
