The next heat wave!

I've just ordered a second fan from Argos just in case. It's a bit weeny at 8" but it has a 12 hour timer and is on a pedestal. It cost £75 😬

Sometimes the weeny ones work just as well or better 😅

That is good to hear. You must be feeling more comfortable now ❤️ 🙏
Yes thank you :-) I'm just contemplating what to do for the next heat wave! I don't really want to get a portable air conditioning unit because apparently that type can be a bit iffy if you're asthmatic due to containing water or something. And for asthmatics it's better to have a split one installed professionally - we're not going to do that as it's too expensive. We should be ok with windows open hopefully, but as I mentioned earlier, I'm thinking of getting a good hepa filter which might help the air quality a bit. It's something I've thought about before.

Yes, I think the amount of moist air that passed through an accident means that it needs to be dismantled and cleaned alot. You can get dehumidifiers which helps. The air purifiers help me to sleep better as I have allergic rhinitis and a blocked nose. They are very quiet and low energy. The filters can be expensive (£20 - £40) but they are worth the money and don't need to be changed for a few months.

The one I'm looking at, after a bit of research, is quite expensive - it's £220 but - the filter lasts for 3 years. It's about 50cm tall and 28cm diameter and filters down to 0.003 microns so also catches the smallest of mould spores. Whether it'll help improve air quality during a heat wave I don't know but there may be more allergens in the air during a heat wave - or it could be just triggered by the heat. And can be put on "turbo" to create a fan as well. Light enough to move to a different room though.

It's a Phillips one. They have a few models and some are less expensive. I suppose it depends what it's needed for. They will all filter down to 0.3 microns which catches most fine particles. I thought if the filter lasts 3 years then the cost effectively includes the cost of 3 years worth of filters from any other type! There was also a Bosch one I was looking at.

Just noticed it's £50 cheaper elsewhere! But out of stock.

Hope so - I don’t check how long the guarantee was.
