The next heat wave!

And humid. I’ve got the air purifier fan on full which is giving cool air in the living room but with the back door and bedroom window open there is no air coming in as no wind and it’s humid, ugh. Don’t want more asthma.

I am just so glad I bought that air purifier because it's actually worse than last time. It's not as hot as last time but there is literally no air! No breeze and a lot of humidity. My asthma is not great tonight but I'm hoping the air purifier will get me through it. It is cooling the room at least and the air from it is probably cleaner than the humid air from outside. But - it's not air conditioning. I don't normally get asthma symptoms but as this humid air only affects me and no one else's breathing, clearly humid air is bad for asthma!

Weather report says humidity will climb to 89 to 90% tonight! It's already 86% - that is really high.

Ugh - sleepless night here. I think I should have bought an air conditioning unit! But they are all out of stock everywhere in the Uk. The air purifier on full fan speed, is confusing my brain in that it feels cooler and feels like fresh air but I still can't breathe well as my asthma is reacting to the humidity in the air

Lived here for 10 years and never known anything like this before.

If you have been using the stove, the kitchen might be a bit less humid, but might be a bit warm 🙁

I did eventually manage to get about 3 hours sleep after next lot of inhalers and actually lie down then. Google said the humidity would be less this morning and much more normal by lunch time. But it's also going to be very hot here today 28 degrees.

Glad you got some sleep and the humidity is going down 🙏❤️🐾

Thank you - only three hours sleep though and I have a very busy day today and need my brain to function :(

I know - it leaves you feeling dizzy and disorientated. I had to sit up most of the night - couldn't sleep lying down.

@Maz the heat is really affecting my breathing this summer too! It’s a bit rubbish! I can’t wait for my air con to be fitted!

Sorry to hear that. Amazed you found any in stock!
I think I managed to get in just ahead of the rush! I stupidly forgot to put my air purifier on last night which has affected my breathing and triggered a hypermobile flare 🙄

I think if I hadn't had this air purifier last night I'd have ended up in hospital!

No good being in hospital in this weather - hotter in most hospitals than anywhere else 🥵😏
I did wonder that. So I've been outside most of today, in the shade - had a job to do. Fine in the shade despite the heat. Enough air today. Came inside and went to the bedroom tonight and it's just as bad! Despite the curtains drawn, fresh air through the window and the air purifier on all day. So I think I'll have to sleep downstairs again which is such an upheaval.

So humidity not quite as bad as last night - instead the midges are back! So being bitten to death has been keeping me awake. So I now have the air purifier going and the fly zapper thing. Which seems to be working - it is zapping ever few seconds - which is now keeping me awake!

Poor Maz ❤️ The autumn weather is coming soon though 🍁🍂

Lavender and mint plants help against midgets sometimes, last year we had an invasion of then and I planted a few of these herbs and placed them in the kitchen and bedroom on the window sill. When the scent started spreading in the room I had less midgets.
Thank you. I had to switch the zapper off before going to sleep! It did work quite well but quite noisy and the smell of fried midges was a bit strange.

I like summer actually! I would like it to be as long as possible! Winter is too long where we are. But this weather has been unusual. I thought the next heat wave wasn't until mid July and we're not there yet!
