Tako the Takoyaki

He looks so cute in that hide :-) Lovely update on Tako :-)

Today Update :
Tako moved to his emergency cage because of his eye irritation yesterday. Today Tako visited vet and said that his eye irritation caused by the dust of wood shaving. The medication is still on going to prevent him from scratch the eye and also help him got more better. Hopefully Tako will healthy again.

You must be very worried. I hope his eye gets better soon, he is so beautiful ❤️
Thanks socks mom, and yes im very worried. Yesterday i noticed that his left eye got swollen and notice the eyelid become red because he was scratch his eyelid until it became bald.

This is the first time he got examined by vet, he scream a lot when vet checked on him which is make me worried, because never saw tako like that before. I knew this will make him stress out, because he never been hold by somebody for very long time and not been able in his comfort zone (His multichamber).

Hopefully in 3 days he can recover from this suffer 🥺🥺

I'm sorry to hear Tako isn't well, I hope he gets better soon.
It is quite upsetting to take them to the vet, but they will thank you for it, when they start feeling better.

I hope he is feeling better. It's very hard seeing them distressed. What meds have you got for his eye? Daisy's little hamster, Toby, also did a lot of screaming for a while when she got him. Tako is lucky, he has a kind home with people who will never harm him. But getting him to understand that isn't easy ❤️

Yeah i hope so, socks mom. images (73).jpegThe vet gave me Genoint Gentacimin Sulfate as her eyes medication.

It's an antibiotic. Poor Tako - I hope his eye gets better soon. Sounds like he needs some nice treats to distract him :-)

Best wishes for little Tako, I'm glad you took him to the vet. It's a shame hamsters eyes are prone to so many issues, I hope he recovers soon

Thanks a bunch, all.
Today Tako visited Vet again and Vet said he catch a cold. Yesterday i bought an Oxbow Critical Care for him however the amount he want to ate doesnt much. Actually it doesn't late, vet gave him antibiotic injection and antibiotic pills for home medication. Is there anyone here have an exprience how to give a bitter medicine? Should i give sugar in it to make it less bitter?

Poor little Tako, he is not having much luck recently. I hope he gets better soon.
Sorry I have no experience with giving antibiotics but I'm sure someone will be able to offer some advice.

Oh, it's hard seeing him unhappy. Maz often speaks about feeding cat food to disguise the bitter taste. She is an expert on this.

I was going to say the antibiotic injection should last the first day and anything meaty (meaty dog food) can disguise the taste (just a pea sized amount) but I've just seen your latest Rainbow Bridge post and I am so sorry for your loss. It's incredibly sad.

I've just seen the sad news. It is so sad. It must be very very hard. Our thoughts and tears are with you. We became very fond of little Tako and enjoyed seeing his beautiful pictures. So sorry to hear this.

Ponyo, you have been very unlucky with health issues with both hamsters. I know it can be hard to find a healthy hamster sometimes, but I do hope you are able to find another fur baby soon. Check on here first for things to look for, for signs of good health.
