It depends on the rest of his diet really, if his diet is low in fat & not overly high in protein then more than four a week would be ok.

I think that he would have too much fat in his diet if he had any more then 4 mealworms.

One of the good things about making your own mix is you can allow for that in the analysis.
But if you think he’s getting enough fat & any more would be too much then stick with it.
Too many mealworms can throw out the calcium phosphorus balance too so it’s not such a bad thing to restrict them.

Thank you. I have a bad feeling he is not eating any of his flour based seeds and just eating the oil based ones. This is why I am very careful to only give him one treat a day and never any more. He would just eat and eat if I let him and he does not like any of the 'healthier' foods.

They do tend to prefer the oily seeds, have you tried putting some of his food somewhere where you can see just what he eats & what he leaves to get a better idea?
I scatter some food but mostly put it in different places around the cage so I know what’s getting left, with just scatter feeding it can be hard to know.

I can see which foods he picks as I scatter some seed mix in his playpen. He totally ignored the flakes millet for example but luckily he loves the buckwheat.

That’s good that he likes his buckwheat, I’ve found they don’t tend to go for flaked seeds or puffed seeds but prefer the whole seeds.
Does he have millet sprays, I can’t remember if you’re allergic to that one or not.

Yes. He loves that. :)

He certainly looks like butter (or mealworms!) wouldn't melt in his mouth in that photo :-) He looks really sweet and cuddly. But is clearly not impressed at the mealworm rationing ha ha. Is there another treat he could have in between the mealworms? That he can't resist?

He had walnut which is loves! He just wants more and more treats all the time. He is a funny boy. :)

I put Orko's wheel in the playpen and Sprite was very interested in it.

Sprite is such an active little chap and so adorable to watch, he just loves exploring doesn’t he. Lovely to see him having fun in Orkos wheel and he likes to wheel in both directions 😀 Hams only ever ran to the right. I never saw him run left in his home wheel or the playpen wheel.

Aw, how cute Hams only ever ran to the right. Thank you. This is the first time Sprite has actually used a wheel in his playpen. I think using a wheel is secret business. ;)

Sprite really seems to love that wheel, it’s great to see him running.

He's loving that :-) That was a really good idea introducing something new to his playpen :)

I spent quite a lot of time with Sprite yesterday and he posed for a few pictures.
