He is funny, looks a bit like he’s tidying up “What’s this doing here? Better put it somewhere safe!”

Aw it looks like he likes that little ball and wanted to put it somewhere safe :-). Or tidying up as Elusive says :) It does look like he’s playing basketball as well!

Sprite enjoyed his ground flaxseed this morning. He always comes out for it even if he is tired.

When I watched last nights camera footage I saw Sprite got very excited when he heard my partner get up at around 4 AM. He kept trying to climb out the cage and managed to climb on top of the hide he has on his MCH but he fell off it. I have now replaced this with a cardboard hide.

I also found out he has been weeing under that hide.

Hamsters do tend to be active around that time, he probably thought your partner had got up to play with him!
He did well to climb on top of that hide! At least he didn’t have too far to fall, a cardboard hide should be safer if he gets adventurous again, not sure what he’ll think of his toilet going missing though!

Thank you. He can always wee underneath it if he wants to.

I just saw Sprite play basketball! He rushed out from his MCH where he has been asleep all afternoon and did this!

We were both stunned. He must have planned it as he rushed out just to do this. He is still in his sand and appears to be asleep there.
Clever Sprite basketball star lovely to see him do that

Every morning when my partner gets up Sprite gets really excited and tries to climb the highest part of his cage to catch my partners attention. My partner cannot see Sprite as it is so dark and he has never once gone over to Sprite at this time despite Sprite trying to catch his attention every morning. I feel sorry for Sprite as he must feel he is being ignored. He looks so cute getting so excited.

Cute and sad all at the same time.

Have you told your partner?
Yes he knows. We live in a studio flat so the light is off as I am asleep. My partner wakes up around 4-5AM to work. He cannot see Sprite or he would go over to him.

I think it sounds like Sprite wants out of the cage as soon as he knows a human is around! Maybe your partner could just say "Hello Sprite - there's a good boy" quietly. Whether he can see him or not? I don't think it's too sad though. I've had this a few times where I've gone down in the night and Raffy immediately looks like he wants to come out, but I am just to tired to even acknowledge him and he has to accept I am not "available" at that time. Likewise he has my attention before bedtime :) And expects that.

Aw how can anyone ignore Sprite maybe just a little good morning from your partner but if he can't see him he probably doesn't think to speak to him.
