He runs on his wheel such a lot. He is so active and full of beans! It is a pity I am not awake at that time but he is most active between 1-5 and I am a zombie at that time. They are so active at night and always wanting to see if they can get out! Assume he eventually settled for running on his wheel
It looks like you have a really active fun hamster!
I think Sprite would prefer a bigger cage. He uses every part of it. Luckily he loves his wheel.I think that’s the same for most people. It’s why hamsters need their wheels! And plenty of space. I know you know that anyway! They usually settle into a routine of foraging and wheeling at night.
Yes. I say, 'No biting'. Thing is, I tried to ignore the scratching just to see if I misunderstood but he looked up at me and carried on. This indicates to me he wanted to come out. I am still new to hamsters. I wonder if he is possibly testing boundaries but I am unsure.Goodness he is seeming busy. Maybe the last time he was just feeling a bit frazzled. Do you say no to him? I say it in a pleasant but disapproving and firm way. Sometimes they get the message after a few times.
That is a good point. Perhaps he was over excited. He wanted me in the playpen with him and when I just sat by it he looked at me until I went in there.Sometimes it’s hard to tell what they want, they are all different & it takes time to read their behaviour, maybe he was just getting a bit over excited rather than annoyed?
