That is so cute and funny!It was funny when Albert first opened my 3 closed fingers when he thought I was hiding more seeds. He looked up at me in disappointment and walked off. That's why I moved on to palm feeding. But be ready incase Sprite runs up your arm when you palm feed. Albert did that to me a few times. Sprite seems very confident so he may decide to get friendly with you quite quickly.
That reminds me of when people put a treat under a cup and get a dog to choose which cup has the treat.

Sprite is loving his wheel. He was on his wheel most of the night and early hours! He looks so happy and excited running on it. He kept jumping on and off it too which was adorable. Here is a video of him running on his wheel.

I could not say no and got my hand attacked! I think he gets so excited at the idea of food. I have to find a way of offering food without him attacking my hand. It really hurts!

what have you tried offering him so far? Something like a piece of sesame stick can be quite handy to try as you can break a piece off that’s long enough so your fingers aren’t too close but you may want to try just introducing your hand without food for a while & see how that goes.
One thing you can try if he’s on the substrate is to put your hand in (without food) & push your fingers into the substrate & just let him explore your hand, he might still bite but it’s harder to get hold of your hand than your fingers!

I offered him a pumpkin seed yesterday which went well. This morning I offered a pine nut on the palm of my hand so perhaps that was too soon. I felt he would struggle to take a pine nut from my fingers due to the shape.
I did try offering my hand without food but I think that confused him as there was no food to take.

I do not want to feed him too many treats so I am trying to feed just one at a time. I am trying to monitor his diet due to his diabetes risk. Hopefully he will get used to less treats.Cute photo of Sprite

It will be fine to give him more seeds, as long as they’re all healthy seeds & it’s not too much too often it’s fine with a diabetes prone species.
Just putting enough on your palm so he can gather than up won’t hurt.
