Albert to Sprite: don't worry about having a routine. I do what I want when I want

I never know when I'm going to see Albert. 4 days in a row is a record for Albert having some kind of routine and then he changes it again. I just spend as much time as I can with him when I do see him.

Sprite's probably checking if your fingers are edible. Love the video and great that he came out into the playpen.
I find that Syrians establish routines but can't say that dwarfs do. They are quite random but react to their environment more because they are so nosey.

It is more then nibbling. It is chewing! He draws blood.

I don’t like gloves, it doesn’t help them get used to your hands I don’t think, they just tend to chew the gloves instead!
I know how much it can hurt but I do think he’ll grow out of once he gets more used to things & learns that fingers aren’t food.

Don't worry Rainbow Sprite will forget all about your fingers once he sees your toes

I suppose it depends how much it hurts! When Raffy was biting I wore gloves initially when hand taming until he walked onto my gloved hand and accepted being stroked. And then moved to no gloves and he was used to hands by then.

That is interesting. I remember when Raffy was biting you.

Well, there's a difference between a nibble and a bite including intention.

Can you scoop him up in your hands? He may not bite when he sits on your hand because the fingers don't present themselves to him in the same way.

I think there’s a difference between biting when they don’t like hands & dwarfs biting because somethings new & they are really still just exploring, I think if that’s the case then wearing gloves just encourages them to chew.

Sprite seems to just be exploring rather then telling me to go away. He seems very confident with hands. In the playpen I did scoop him up a few times and he was fine. I think he gets confused and chews looking for food.
