Off to get my cute boy tomorrow, driving nearly 2 hours for him but it’s worth it, here’s his cage and his transport cage. The cage has a burrowing spot, a big sand bath, a house with multiple rooms, hidey spots, a XL wheel and accessories with treats hidden so he has to forage and nesting spread

You have lots of height in that cage & it still looks as though there is a lot of open empty space so I would try to fill it up a bit before you get him home.
Fill the base right up to the rim with substrate & I would add more hides, cardboard boxes & tubes are fine, lots of places to explore & feel safe.
Have you got the wheel on a platform of any kind?

It is exciting . It looks great I agree it would be good to add some more overhead cover over the house end - maybe a couple of corner shelves - but you can add those later when he’s settled in a bit maybe. He’ll be exploring and scent marking ar first and working everything out

Don’t forget to put a big pile of torn up toilet paper strips next to the house - he’ll take those to build a nest.

You might find the wheel will fall over if it isn’t on something stable so it might be an idea to find something to stand it on.

You could tie the stand to the bars to keep it stable - I think Frida did that. But it’s not safe to use normal cotton string. It needs to be sisal string - or if you have any plastic cable ties that would do.

Oh that’s fine if it’s attached to the cage! When you said floating I thought you meant on the substrate.
