I realised I haven’t really taken many photos of Raffy for a while. It’s been busy over the summer. And he moves fast at night! Poor Raffy has had to stay in his cage the last two nights. We had a mouse a few days ago. It was caught. We left traps for another night and nothing else. It was only a little field mouse and probably came in from outside, but they can carry diseases. So a major clean up in the living room the last couple of days. I didn’t want Raffy roaming again until it was sorted. And there isn’t another room I can let him out in safely.
Big job! It’s surprising how much clutter accumulates - behind the sofa eg!
And it needed a through hoovering everywhere. I still have one corner to do where there’s a load of stuff in an alcove Raffy likes to climb over and it’s the corner where the mouse went. So more shifting of furniture and other things before tonight and more cleaning in that area.
Last night Raffy was absolutely desperate to come out and I felt so mean. I could t even feed him without him trying to climb out. In the end I let him have a run around on the sofa. Which he did t like. He wanted to jump off but was too nervous (I’m sure he would do it eventually). Anyway at least he had about 10 minutes out of the cage.
I later saw him looking jealously across at Pip from the end of his cage when I was talking to Pip before I went to bed.
Poor Raffy - no free roaming, noisy hoover and then Pip getting attention.
During my clean up I had to move all OH’s box files and found the empty one that Raffy likes to go in, he has been using as a toilet! And a snack store. Full of hamster poops (they were definitely hamster ones) and he must have peed as it’s going a bit manky as well. So that has been binned. I might need to put a hidey place down there instead.
