Some brilliant rolling by Orko. He looks like he is breakdancing. :)

I have to show this to my family later today... Last night we put a new "hideout" in our playpen for our Syrian. It is a plastic stuffed animal pet carrier toy that our last hamster liked as a playpen shelter (though I cleaned it with soap and water after he passed weeks ago). Our Syrian started doing the Orko moves for minutes in the carrier, only pausing for an occasional clean. My theory was scentmarking.

Syrians do have scent glands on their sides so that would make sense. 🙂

I wish I'd been prepped with my phone so I could share now. He was thorough and I don't know if he'll do it again. I guess he loved that carrier!

Some Syrians do scent mark everything a lot when they're young, and it can look like a funny shaky dance as they lean to one side :)

Yes! It was the first time we saw him do it so extensively, and apparently my back was turned when he flopped on his back almost fully and shook like a breakdancer. My daughter and husband were like, "You missed it!" but he didn't continue to rub his side/ back around for awhile. :D

I added more bedding to Orko's cage and swept the surfaces. I also sieved his sand and added more sand. To make up for this I gave him a pea. He looked so excited to get it. How cute. :)

And there's his divining rod! My he's zippy! What species again?

They are very fast! And very tiny. They're not the easiest to handle and tame.

Orko really enjoys taking treats out of his willow ball. He looked like he could not decide were to stash his pumpkin seed here.

I squealed out loud when I saw how cute and happy Orko looked eating his carrot this morning. :)

The first video looks like its on fastforward. Orko is so so fast and determined to find a safe place for his pumpkin seed. So cute.

He looks so sweet running off with his prize pumpkin seed bless him1
He certainly did enjoy his breakfast carrot, lovely to see.

He really was zippy on that first video :-). It must have been exciting getting that pumpkin seed out. He is always very watchable and cute :)

Orko had another busy night rearranging his bedding.

A super zoomy night Orko! He really looks like he’s on a mission there 😍

He really does! Very zoomy. I had to laugh on the second one where he accidentally part fell down the hole on the house roof while zooming :)

He does that all the time! He is always tripping over. Tiny little boy. :)
