He has been busy! Made me laugh in the first one, looks as if he’s giving his bowls a quick polish.

I have not had anything to do in his cage for a while now. It is so tidy!

Orko spent all night putting bedding in front of his wheel again. As he ran in it, bits of bedding kept going inside and it took him ages to keep getting it out again. I do wonder why he does this because this morning when I checked his wheel it would not turn very well due to the bedding. I had no choice but to flatten the bedding again. Poor Orko.

Could you place a flat piece of cork in front of the wheel? Orko would probably think of something to get around this though.

OH told me this morning that shortie Lilly struggled to get out of her cage so i topped up the substrate under her step. Along comes Lilly and digs it all up! Can't win.

That's a good idea I do this in front of our robo's wheel - it's a kind of level step up to the wheel for them. Our first robo then dug a burrow under his piece of cork bark as a second nest. Maybe Orko was trying to create a level entrance to the wheel. Or maybe he just loves his wheel so much he wanted to chill out under the substrate and be close to it (but then they don't realise it jams the wheel!

I could do but I think it would upset Orko as he makes tunnels there. What I have done is added lots more bedding throughout his cage in the hope that will keep him happy.

I really do not know what he is thinking. He puts bedding in front of the wheel then tries to run in the wheel. He has various tunnels beside the wheel. Interestingly, he does not do this to his other wheel.

Maybe he’s trying to hide his tunnels? I don’t know what robos are like with things like that but Chinese will often go to great lengths to hide their burrows.

If he tunnels there, he probably already has a wheel nest. Maybe the pile of substrate gets there accidentally when he tunnels or digs underground. I find the cork bark piece works well - they can still tunnel around or under it or it can make a roof for a tunnel

He has a cork log just in front of the wheel though. There is just a small gap between that and his wheel. I actually had beech chips around the wheel and he hated it and spend hours putting bedding back.

If you just leave it for a while he might well sort it out himself.
