. They are good at that! In fact anything easy to climb on (eg the maze and glass jar) I would put nearer the middle. As they can also use then as a spring board and jump and hang on to the sides of the playpen and climb out!

You could use some cardboard boxes and add different substrates for Grommit to dig in. My hamster really enjoys that.![]()
