That's Quasimodo back in place. He started off as a fountain but the birds claimed him as their communal bath.

Love Quasimodo.

H had a period of getting stonework in, a couple of lions, Julius Caesar’s head and Eastern styles too!

Coco, it was you mentioning the robins splasing about that prompted me to finish the clearing up project i was working on and give the birds their bath back.

I love stonework and have a fascination with old churches and gargoyles. Love them and love York.
I have a stone bird house i bought years ago from a stonemason and have always driven little old bangers. I still wonder how i managed to get it home in something like a Metro or Micra.

York - as in the city? My son lived there for a few years and so I drove there once a year to visit and loved the place.

You mentioning stonework has just caused me to go outside and see what was worthwhile taking photos of.
Hope something makes you smile!

Here is Julius Caesar on his plinth with 2 lions guarding.
Bonsai trees on either side in trays are a few of those H has.

This statue of Buddha was red once with his lions. It is bare ground around him because H cleared the corner last weekend as it was a mess and put these there temporarily.
Unseen is a lovely purple acacia tree in front of him.

Yes as in the city of York.
Love your stonework which is very much the type of garden i like too.

I thought about the acacia tree and went out to see it in the late sunshine.
Red I think not purple and over a small pond. Yup, another statue and peer through the leaves to see Buddha in his corner.

Have to admit it is all down to H’s hard work over 35 years here. I am allowed a few flowers for some colour now. The winter weather really did some damage and he is rather disheartened now but we shall see what nature does.

That's a lovely corner and what a glorious colour in the late sunshine.

Nature has a way of balancing itself out. One goes and another grows.

That is a lovely colour, I do love that kind of coloured foliage.
Is that yellow flag iris in front of it in the pond?

Indeed it is elusive. It has rather taken over right now and flowered in abundance.

It can be a bit of a thug but you have to forgive it being so beautiful! I have lots in my front garden but that faces north so is only just coming into bud now.

This rose is very old and has a powerful scent. They don't grow them like that anymore.
I often see my OH in the garden sniffing this rose.

Can’t beat a good old fashioned rose like that, the newer ones really don’t seem to have much in the way of scent.

What a lovely garden Coco 😃, I like to have garden ornaments in between the plants too, they compliment each other really well.

Thank you Zara though the credit belongs to H. The palm trees and cypress trees remain out of shot! It is all rather a lot in a narrow garden and at this time of year the clippings are piling up.
