Good showing of poppies this morning.
I have a few more on the opposite side of the garden but they are way behind as that flower bed is shaded a lot of the time by the fence behind it.

This particular rose is just right now.

The poppies are looking so good & I love that rose.

It's been lovely following this thread while I've been isolated upstairs most of the last two weeks! Although felt a bit sad at times that I was missing the outdoors and lovely weather.

Today I went outside for the first time for two weeks. Carefully! The flowers in the front are all gone now but my chives are out and a little potentilla bush (shrubby cinquefoil) is flowering. Plus my strawberry hanging basket has a few flowers. The rest is an overgrown jungle! There's another potentilla in the front which is the standard yellow. This one is a dwarf version - with pinky red flowers - I can't remember the name of it - something like Crimson Dawn I think.

There's also a giant rabbit hole in my small vegetable bed and I suspect nothing will grow in there now.

Must have been lovely to get outside again, the chives & potentilla look lovely.
I have an overgrown, slightly wilting now, jungle too!

As I never seem to be able to keep on top of gardening these days, I'm tempted to let it turn into a wildflower meadow :) Rather than try and keep a tidy bed and a grass area. The bird bath has disappeared completely - it's somewhere under the potentilla which has gone crazy.

After all the oranges & yellows I love purple & blue flowers too, here’s the scabious just starting to bloom with some delicate little erigeron.

I even have some pink flowers 😱
Not such a bad pink really & does look nice against the foliage, my black elder which is now more of a tree than a shrub as I haven’t pruned it for a couple of years.

Oh, what gorgeous photos!

Why do everybody else's plants look so healthy and mine always look struggly..

Coco, that yellow rose is stunning and the foliage so green and healthy.

Maz, going outside to look at your lovely flowers must have given you a boost. Let's hope the nice weather continues.

Elusive, those colours are beautiful and the pink blends in.

You’ve shared some lovely flowers & plants Beryl & none of them looked struggly to me!

I only take a photo of their best side, lol.
I wished it would rain so everything turns green and lush and i wouldn't suddenly remember at midnight that i've forgotten to water the plants again.

Beryl - here is an example of struggly here. Winter frosts not lack of rain now.

For elusive, purple at the end of the garden….and…

Out the front too. Perfect example of things getting out of hand!

Lovely Coco, all the better for getting out of hand too!

I wish it would rain too Beryl, there was a time when I thought I would never say that, but after what must be a decade of cold wet summers my garden is planted with things that can cope with that & lots of pots, no way I can water them all every day, it would be nice if it just rained at night though.

The aubrieta at the end of the garden found its way there from the front I think. I brought it from my previous home as I liked it so much. The rockery stones there, I have realised, were originally put there when my H created a rockery garden to celebrate the birth of our daughter. She will be 32 later this month…oh help! Over the years it has become somewhat overgrown there but the photo is the best of it.

The rockery was a lovely idea & it’s just naturalised! Time does fly doesn’t it.

I couldn’t get closer for the photo but the robin arrived on Julius Caesar’s head.
This means - snack time please hooman!
So I step outside and put a teaspoon of food down below.

I didn't know you could get robins at this time of year! What is the plant on the wall above with the deep red flowers? Is it a clematis?

There is a swallows nest in the eaves right above my bedroom window. I've been watching swallows coming and going all week.
