I give it on a teaspoon - I make it fairly runny and they just eat it off the teaspoon. Usually they've had enough about half way through. You can get instant porridge as well which is easier! You just poor boiling water on that, mix it a bit thick, then add some cold water to cool it down and thin it out.
If using normal porridge oats you can make it in a mug in the microwave. So a teaspoonful of oats, a bit of water and microwave for about 10 seconds and then another 10 seconds until it looks a bit right.
You need to let it cool down though or it'll be too hot. Also it gets thicker as it cools down so I leave it fairly runny and then it's about right when it's cooled down
