Should I get rid of Albert's food bowl?

I put seed mix in the following places:
Bowl
Dig box
Scatter around cage

Albert's favourite place to look for food is his dig box, then forage around the cage. He eats some seeds out of his bowl but not much.

I'm worried if I remove his bowl and Albert for some reason didn't feel up to digging and foraging he would go hungry.

I scatter all of Sprites food apart from his ground flax because its a powder. I think foraging for food is a great idea.

I use a bowl & scatter, once they get used to foraging I tend to put less in the bowl but never take it away.
If he ignores it completely you could try taking it out but personally I prefer not to make those kind of changes, I doubt Albert would be to bothered though, he’s a pretty laid back boy!

I do bowl and scatter as well And some depends on the hamster. Some Syrians I've had just ignored most of the scatter and it ended up being a big mess of food!

Sitting in the bowl is an opportunity for pats and socialising for us. Also Socks is so obsessed with his wheel food seems to come second these days.

Bowl and scatter is what I do plus place the odd treat in his hides as a surprise for him

I gave Albert an extra hide. It's a tissue box. I've placed it on top of his house and tied it in place so Albert can't push it off. I've put some torn up toilet paper inside, a whimzee and couple of meal worms. Extra torn up toilet paper outside if Albert wants to add more. Albert went straight in to investigate and I think he's very happy with his new hide. I wasn't quick enough to get a photo of Albert inside. But you can see Albert at the door of his house enjoying a treat.

That’s a great little hide for Albert, I can just picture him satin there keeping an eye on things!

It’s a really cute hide and a great position for a look out whilst feeling safe as undercover I’m sure Albert will really enjoy this.

I check every day to make sure Albert's wheel is turning freely.
When I went to check, it was turning but not very well because Albert had been digging and tunneling. So I put hand underneath the wheel to push the substrate down a bit. To my surprise I felt Albert's teeth holding on to my middle finger. I slowly pulled my hand away with Albert holding on. As soon as Albert realised it was me he let go. I said "Sorry Albert I had no idea you was down there". It could of been worse, he could of sunk his teeth in but he didn't. I'm guessing his first reaction was to attack but then realised it was his mum

They are so smart and sociable, they really bond with their owners, if you treat them well!
