A week starting on a Wednesday 😅

First day back to work after a few days holiday
I arrived at work at 6.30 only to realise I hadn’t put the umbrellas up on the balcony. My office was cosy 28 degrees and piles of work waiting.
I went home at 9.09 to put the umbrellas up it’s hotter than forecasted.
I am making strawberry tartlets for evening meal (will post a foto later).
Nibbles looks cosy, it’s 23 degrees so cool enough. He didn’t get up this morning. He’s enjoying his fresh bed but he did peep through his window to say hello.
I am enjoying a short sunbath on the balcony, it’s much more bearable after the heatwave has passed. I managed to sew my pillowcases (the German size is 80x80 cm) with my dinky 30 euro tiny sewing machine, lost the thread 4 times and must admit I sweated my eyes are old.

I made two plates of the traditional German strawberry tartlets, I will share them with my neighbours. It’s the first time I made them, hope they taste okay the bottom of the tarts are not homemade, you can buy them here so cheap in every supermarket

Thank you I just tried one, they are very refreshing. I took four to the neighbours and instantly got rewarded with Russian pancakes. very delicious
That’s so typical of Russians, if you bring them something they will always send something back. They frequently cook for me, they feel sorry that I live on my own

Thank you Definitely and I have been a good mum and steamed a bit of broccoli
It has cooled down nicely here, only Friday we are forecast a mini heatwave. Our office is so hot and stuffy, I hope to cool it down tomorrow. My brain felt as if it’s melting and it was hard to concentrate. I guess that’s why I craved those tarts I needed some form of energy

Nibbles has been up for his broccoli he ate it straight away in his dining room he loves his clean nest, looked to content and happy and went back down. When he has a clean bed he sleeps more, he doesn’t come up into the house, sometimes you can here him having a snack, he cuddles up and snores his little head off
I wish he didn’t pee in his nest, but I have got the hang of cleaning it, his burrow is just a straight hole: tube like, with a small hoard at the bottom. Unfortunately the pee sinks down into the hoard. When I clean it (meanwhile regularly) I leave the dry bedding in, take the hole wet and small hoard out and replace them with fresh food (and a treat ) and bedding. He doesn’t change much himself, just a bit of redecorating. He’s never stressed out, quite the opposite: he loves his fresh bed you can really tell how happy he is.
I guess he will be up at nine as usual. I have watered the plants, washed the floors, changed the bed and now I am watching the narrow boaters on YouTube

I love my fresh bed and why should I get up to pee when I am tired mum will clean it out and I always get a nice hoard and a treat. I love it

Yes it’s cosy in the evenings when it gets cooler the tarts were delicious, not too sweet just nice and juicy. I will look to find a link for the sewing machine, I am sure you can get them on Amazon. They are really good, even run with batteries but I prefer hooking it up, it seems more powerful. I have even shortened jeans with it.

Good Morning everyone, hope you all had a good night sleep.

My sleep was rather short and luckily its very calm here at work and the boss has gone to pick up our new truck.

Last night Nibbles was very naughty! I wanted to get him out of the playpen at 11 pm (rather late for me, but that was at least two hours of playtime for him). He wasn´t having it! I whipped out the wheel and put down the taxi jug, he turned his back on it, started eating, playing had a drink and was climbing on and in his hideouts. I politely asked him to climb in the taxi again, he said NO started cleaning and grooming and spat a poo at my hand (I am trying not to feel offended, it might of been a gesture of sharing a treat)...
after 15 minutes I was in tears, I was so tired and frusrated and just wanted to sleep.
Then luckily he climbed into the sandbath which I quickly whipped out and placed in his home. He was furious! He threw such a tantrum, refused to leave the sandbath, climbing out looking around and climbin back in again, they trying with all his strength to open the cage door and staring at me in pure fury!
I switched the light off, went to bed feeling mean and very guilty, it was 11:30 pm the alarm went off at 5 am. I went in the kitchen to make a cup of coffee and saw little Nibbles tucked up nice and cosy in his nest, I have never before been so envious.

Only the past few days Nibbles has frequently been using his sandbath. The first sand I bought was from JR farm, it is really smooth but a bit dusty.
I think thats the reason he didn´t like using it. I have bought sand through the the company where I buy his food, its fantastic! No dust and really smooth.
Since he noticed the new sand he spends a lot of time in the sandbath, especially to cool off.
Does anyone know if I can clean the dust out of the JR sand? maybe wash it and put it out on a tray in the sun? I still have a big bucket full, its a shame as
it is good sand apart from the dust.
