What do you think? Is she a Winter white, Campbell or hybrid?

Hello :-) She is gorgeous! It might depend where you got her from. Virtually all russian dwarfs from pet shops are hybrids. Unless she came from a breeder with an ancestry of her parentage and history, then she is probably a hybrid.

No idea! I can only recognise a Syrian 🙄. But she is so sweet! What have you called her?

She looks like a Winter White but she's probably genetically a hybrid unless from a breeder. Most hybrids resemble one species more than the other and often have personality traits corresponding to the species they resemble.

Female Winter Whites or Winter White hybrids tend to be lively and feisty :)

Hello and welcome to the forum!

I have no idea what species your cute dwarfie belongs to. All mine are hybrids but i had one pure bred winter white from a breeder who gave me a pedigree certificate with ancestry. This hamster was a lot bigger and rounder than the others.

Hello & welcome to the forum.
Your hamster is really beautiful!
With Russian hamster if you don’t know then it’s a hybrid, you will only get either Campbell’s or Winter White from a breeder.
Hybrids often resemble one species more than another but they are still hybrids.

The stripe down its back is characteristic of the Chinese Striped hamster. Compare my hamster.IMG_3398.jpeg

Some hybrids/Winter Whites can be quite similar in colour to some Chinese hamsters (including having a stripe), however Chinese hamsters are much longer and narrower and have a longish tail, where a hybrid/Winter White is more short and round with a bobtail. They also have different facial features.
