Toby is over 2 years old now but still doing well.

He did have some trouble with a blocked scent gland recently. I wasn't able to hold a wet compress to try to soften - he just wouldn't stay still. But I did have success with dropping some diluted glycerin (which has a softening and lubricating effect) on the gland and leaving him to groom it off himself.

Hello Toby. That little face That is a clever idea using glycerine. Their scent glands can get quite grungy. I can't believe he's over two years old!

Toby has developed a lump on his hip. It looks like a classic tumour to me. It's affecting his walking slightly but otherwise he seems ok. He's over 2.5 now so my plan is just to monitor for pain, significant mobility issues or ulceration.

Sadly Toby was put to sleep today as his lump had ruptured and was bleeding a lot.

I am so sorry that is very sad, but very brave of you to let him go. Run free little Toby over sweet scented fields of flowers, no more illness just joy and fun. I send you a big virtual hug to deal with your loss and lots of strength
