Hi everyone, I've been busy last night cleaning another third of teddy's enclosure, good job done! I was just wondering what you think of the fitch paper bedding , as I need to get some more for when I do his last third. What do you think?Ness

I used Fitch alot, with a softer paper bedding in the nest. It's great for tunnelling, not dusty and is consistently good quality

I've been using fitch for about 10 years It's good stuff. It's just recylced food grade paper. It is uk based so I'm not sure if they'd ship to Germany or not. You could maybe email them and ask.

While they sell various types, the best one for hamsters, in bulk, is the 70 litre bag. There is a larger bulk bag but it's not the same stuff - that one is stringy paper pieces and the 70 litre is smaller paper pieces, which is better

Amazon also sell it - so it's possible you could order it from Amazon?

Hi Ness, I use the Bucatstate for his house and bed. It´s very good, no dust.
I have been looking into a solution for the rest of the cage. Fitch is not available in Germany Kaytee clean and cosy had some reviews where they had plastic parts in the bag, and it´s more or less the same as the Bucatstate. So now I have ordered a bag of Hugro hemp for the rest of the cage. Its got very good reviews and I really would like a dust free solution. I am not a great fan of the wood shavings...

I thought the hemp I bought was a bit rough and dusty. I used it in the piggy cages, but the woodshavings I get from Nature's Own and Pillow Wad are softer. I liked the super soft paper for Socks

The Hugro hemp may be different, it has a very soft texture (according to the reviews) and where I will place it, there will be no urine.
So maybe it will be okay

the Bucatstate is also lovely for the bed, very soft and cosy and it seem to soak up the wee very well (but hopefully thats history, I had 6 lumps in the en-suite yesterday )

At the end of the day it's all down to personal choice. I wouldn't but it's up to you it literally breaks down into dust and I buy expensive hemp for my girls because I love them so much. It also can have sharp bits in it even when the majority is soft. Ness

Of course I didn’t mind, I appreciate your advise I have successfully cancelled the order I will stick to the Bucatstate. He’s got a hemp mat in the playpen, that will be enough
