One is unbleached and one is not. That is the difference I saw.

On the description on the website it says both are unbleached (but only says one is unbleached in the title). I just read the negative reviews on amazon and yes some complaints - but main issue is it seems very expensive for the amount you get. Apparently the 56 litres is expanded and it's only a 16 litre pack. One is unbleached and one is not. That is the difference I saw.
Fitch sounds a lot better. I hope the company reply soon.Don't think I'll bother - it's expensive and some people say dusty. Now to chase up my Fitch!
Isnt it on their website?Fitch seems to be out of stock everywhere. I hope they haven't gone bust.
Thanks Maz, I’d not thought to contact Kaytee direct but I’ll drop them a note. I think lots of the bedding brands are all recycled paper so guess a bit of tin can could possibly fall in and unfortunately get squished in with everything else. Fingers crossed no mothsZara - I had a bad batch of Kaytee C&C which was very very dusty (it was partway through the pandemic so I put that down to quality control or a bad batch during the pandemic). Coincidentally (or not) that was also when I got the moth outbreak shortly afterwards (thinking about it in hindsight as I couldn't work out how I got it). But usually it's food that causes the moth issue, not bedding. Anyway it was so dusty that it put me off and I stuck with Fitch. But others don't seem to have had any issues with it.
That is annoying as buying the 4kg bags will end up costing more. I too heard it is hard. I bought a 1kg bag to try it out. The top was hard but the rest nice and soft.Somebody told me the other day not to buy the 10kg bag of Fitch because its hard and stringy. She told me to get the 4kg bags.
I think i saw the pet select at Jolleys or somewhere. Must have another look.
I'm happy with Kaytee and never had a bad bag but something good and cheaper could come in handy for a temporary foster cage.
Thanks Rainbow. Except - when I clicked on it to buy it, it said "the requested quantity is not available". It's out of stock on Amazon and ebay.Fitch First - Search results for: 'fitch paper 10kg single bale bedding for smaller critters'

There are two types of Fitch now. The one for small animals isn't the stringy one, just smaller pieces like Kaytee. I've always had the 10kg bags - but you need to check it's the one for small animals.Somebody told me the other day not to buy the 10kg bag of Fitch because its hard and stringy. She told me to get the 4kg bags.

Can you buy the smaller bags or are they out of stock too? Thanks Rainbow. Except - when I clicked on it to buy it, it said "the requested quantity is not available". It's out of stock on Amazon and ebay.
