A fluffy bundle of energy. I love it when he meerkats not wanting to miss anything.

He was up from 10PM to 7AM so I have only seen him briefly today. I have really missed him all day. If only I could adjust my body clock. :)

Maybe try and go to bed 15 mins later than normally and adjust your sleeping pattern gradually aiming for 23.00.

Sprite waits for me to go to bed when he gets up at night. If I wait up then he gets up later. He will only use his wheel in secret. 🙂

Quite a few of mine have been like that, active early in the morning, during the day & early evening but later in the evening they just want me to go to bed!
Maybe try getting up just a little earlier & see if you can get up early enough over a period of time?

Sprite seems to be going through a phase of avoiding me. He waits for us to go to bed before getting up at night. This morning I was up earlier and when he realised I was up he went back to bed. He gets up for his ground flaxseeds and is grumpy if they are not ready for him as soon as he wakes up. I was putting them out at the same time every morning but when he started going to bed around 7 I realised this was waking him so I tried waiting for him to wake up and then going to get them. It seems this was not the right thing to do. I can sense when he wants to be left alone and I leave his food and water and then go away but even that seems to be annoying.

Here is a little clip of him. Once he realised I was around he went back to bed.

I wouldn’t worry, they do go through phases sometimes.
If he was actually sleeping i wouldn’t have thought putting his flax seeds in would wake him unless the lid makes quite a noise, I would probably just stick to the routine you had & he’ll know when to expect them.

Thank you. I will do that. :)

Yes they do go through phases. He had quite a lot of out of cage time recently so maybe he is just wanting a bit of privacy for a few days. Most hamsters I’ve had like to be in for two or three days after being out. Raffy is an exception.

That is a good point. As long as he is happy then I am okay with whatever he wants to do. He is very active when I watch the camera footage so I know he is well. :)

Even Lilly is in a quieter phase at the moment. I don't know the reasons behind it but they do go through phases. One thing i do know is that it has nothing to do with us humans so i carry on as per normal.

That is interesting. Perhaps it is to do with the weather. I am also carrying on as usual. :)

Two cute clips of Sprite from last night. He is so busy until the early hours and it looks like he has stopped napping during his time out so he must be extra tired by morning.

I love the way he meerkats so much listening to every little sound!

Super cute videos and so lovely to see what Sprite gets up to.

I saw Sprite yawn! I have never seen him yawn before. You will have to look at it on a bigger screen. He pops out from his hide and yawns.

It’s tiring stuff being this cute Sprite! Ready for the next bout of activity after a lovely snooze?
