I am wondering if a course of antibiotics is worth trying in case it's some other infection causing pressure in the brain or something. Apparently lack of Vitamin E can affect muscles as well but she's probably getting enough of that in her diet. Even so I think Elusive sometimes supplements with Evening Primrose oil - contains vitamin E amongst other things - and wouldn't do any harm.
Hopefully Elusive sees this and can advise, sounds like it might be worth giving a try but don't know how to do it safely.

She does seem to be getting around better which is great but the twitching & circling does look like it most likely is still some kind of neuro issue going on.
Evening primrose is perfectly safe, a drop a day or every other day would be fine, not sure if it will be beneficial or not in her case but it’s worth a try. Quite a few nutrients can play a part in muscle weakness & nerve function, she is probably getting enough in her diet but it might be worth giving her a tiny dose of vitamins too to give her a boost.

Snowy has been super busy this evening. Normally she does all her burrow work in the night but I was in a different room this evening and left only a super dim light on and caught her on camera emerging from her bedding in three different places to usual. I think since I redid a lot her cage (when she was needing twice daily meds and a flat layout) she has mainly been using the MCH under the substrate boxes and not creating burrows much. I guess she's decided it's time to expand her underground domain!

I also caught her using her apple wood chew stick. Usually she doesn't care about chew toys at all, though she'd regularly chew at the edges of her niteangel wheel and the rim of her water bowl!

Aw it sounds like Snowy is happy. It is funny how they will ignore a chew then use it one day.

That's good news about Snowy getting busy again!
It is great to see how well she's doing now when four weeks ago I had no idea what quality of life she'd recover.

I've given her a section of a rye fidget stick from small pet select and given the rest to the rats, hope she'll enjoy chewing at that too.

So glad to hear she's enjoying her cage :)

an instant hit :)

So nice to see Snowy really enjoying the rye stick. She also did super well in her wheel 😊

So glad to hear she’s doing better, she sounds happy & busy now.

Lovely to see her enjoying treats. I wonder if she had a mini stroke - but she is doing well regardless.

Yeah, given her behaviour since I strongly suspect that was what happened. The ear infection meds were only a 'just in case' thing, the vet couldn't see any actual evidence of one.

I sometimes give Snowy a bullrush ball with some pellets shoved in it as enrichment. Usually she ignores it until night time and often leaves it a day or two before bothering with it but yesterday she was determined to get at those nuggets! This morning I couldn't see the remains of the ball anywhere and noticed that her burrow entrance was much wider than usual. I think she dragged the entire ball under her shelf in the night!

She was determined bless her! That must have been quite some feat for her to drag that down into her burrow.

Haha yeah, she's definitely feeling like herself again! Except more confident about being out when the lights are on for some reason

Not sure what she is trying to achieve but she is very busy doing something to the burrow under the shelf!

Swapped her old water bowl for a small tealight candle holder as she fell into her old bowl yesterday and I don't want her getting wet again... They're £1.50 for a pack of 5 in Ikea and seem great for dwarf hamsters!

I saw her poking at the cage lid a little bit this morning which she never normally does. I assume she must be aware that there's another hamster in the room at the moment.
