Raffy (Syrian Hamster)

Sounds like he made the right decision to not jump out if it was quite a way down, travel jug much easier 🙂 Definitely noticed the drop in temperature here too, cute that Raffys getting him self cosy for the cooler days ahead. Made me chuckle that he’d pouched the spilt food before you returned, he no doubt thought it would be good for the winter store 😃

I got a snap of the inside of Raffy’s treat pot on his shelf

It’s just special treats that go in there. He sometimes sits with his head in the pot, munching them.

I was surprised to see those - it’s normally cookies that go in there. Walnuts are too precious to go there - they get taken down a tunnel and eaten or pouched.

Wow, what a fabulous stash. Ham would like an invite for tea please Raffy. 😆

He has his own little buffet set up there! Hopefully he gives you a tip for the fine service :O

Raffy has been coming out later and later. I am going to have to skip a night and see if he comes out earlier. It's gone midnight most nights. Sometimes he is actually out but refuses to come out of the cage until he's finished having his wash :ROFLMAO: . I thought it was the cold at first but had the heating on in the evenings and it's not been cold at all. Then I thought maybe he was subdued after realising it was very quiet without another hamster in the room after a while. Maybe it's just Raffy deciding to get up very light in darker weather. He was a bit like this last winter.

So the other night I gave him his egg box boredom breaker while he was out of the cage and he enjoyed attacking that. I'll add the video when I've got it uploaded.

Last night was the first night with Millie here and he didn't even seem to notice - behaved exactly the same as before!

Haha, Raffy is as unpredictable as ever! I can picture him having a wash while you are waiting to let him out. He is funny. 😂

🤣 he is funny, this has made me chuckle, cheeky Raffy. You just sit there mum whilst I clean up and then come out for a play, don’t worry about the time, we can all sleep later. I know another Syrian who likes to wash before heading out for a play too 🙂

Sorry to hear he‘s getting late though, maybe the clock move will help you out as midnight will become 11pm? Or yes, perhaps missing a night out will move him into action🤞this often worked here.

I’m sure he was only pretending not to notice Millie, they’re probably making plans for mischief togethr already….

This is Raffy with his egg box treat thing a couple of nights ago. It certainly kept him busy for a good 10 minutes! And a couple of videos of him attacking it vigorously. The second one he pops his head up and meerkats a bit :)

That's adorable, what are the seeds secured with on the egg box?

Well that was a big hit! Raffy’s really getting stuck in there, it’s lovely to watch him having so much fun.

That's certainly keeping him busy he's determined to have those seeds ☺️

I always love seeing Raffy 🐹💕
He's really is enjoying collecting those seeds.

It's flour and water glue. I had it a bit too runny this time though as not many seeds stuck to it! Mind you that shape was difficult to dip in seeds so the seeds maybe weren't going to stay on very well while vertical!

Thanks all - yes he's so energetic isn't he? By my reckoning he is about 22 months old now and his fur is still lovely.
