InterestingIt's quite old! About 80. 40 years per hamster year. The calculation varies and some say about 36 years but I think 40 is about right. They are often looking older and maybe a bit doddery by two. Most of my Syrians have lived to about 2 years four months, but the first one lived to 2 years 8 months. So that seems about right - he would have been well into his nineties! The rare times one lives to 3 - they would be the equivalent of our centenarians.
Also with humans, it's after age 80 and during their eighties they seem to become more frail and that is usually the case with hamsters past the two year mark.
