That cup is a bit of a game. It lived on the back shelf and I used to put a couple of sunflower seeds in it - but kept finding it sitting on the house roof! So I'd put it back and it would end up on the house roof again. He probably knocks it off but it always seems to end up sitting the right way up! It's part of a dollshouse teaset - the little plates are a bit bigger and good for a bit of veg or meds for hamsters. The cup was just there for decoration really - and to put the odd treat in.
 
I managed to move the nightcam closer to his cage last night, by putting it on my camera tripod with bluetak! It means the tripod and camera are to the side of Raffy's cage and in front of Pip's (at the moment).

This is how he gets into his hammock from the egg box! He is so fast. Must be because he's done it a zillion times before and knows the route. I noticed the egg box hammock is slightly tilted now - so it's down at the shelf end and up at the front end - so not much gap between the front end and the big hammock so he doesn't have that far to jump. Even so it's like lightning.

Another very short 30 second clip of him zooming around at night :) . The last one for now. I moved the sprays to the front right as it doesn't block one of his routes. When I put them at the back they were in the way of him jumping onto the rock structure thing.

That was the last video for now :). He's due a major spot clean but I've been waiting for the substrate to arrive. It arrived the other day so will need to do that in a few days time. I also think Pip's cage might be nice with the perspex panels instead of cardboard. Might see him digging under the substrate. But I'm not sure I can warrant it as the cardboard does it's job and the cage base isn't clear anyway.
 
I think so. I large parcel has arrived. I haven't checked it yet. I still leave things two or three days to de-covidise!
 
By the way, are those videos playing ok for you? I just get a spinning circle and they only play on youtube (might be our internet which is very slow)

They are playing perfectly. I love watching them. :)
 
Vids are playing fine for me too.
Love the zoomy one, his little eyes are like headlights on a racing car!
 
Videos of robos always look like they are played on fast forward.
Love it the way Pip jumps into the hammock.
 
What gets me is how fast he runs down the ladder - you think he'd trip over himself or nose dive at the bottom, but no it's a perfect turn at the bottom. It's amazing how fast their little legs are.

He just takes off doesn't he? He spent absolutely ages up there in the hammock so I chopped the video at the point where he jumped in. It's his snack den I think. It's so messy with food and husks - Orko would be horrified :)
 
Pip came out this evening - first time I have seen him for ages. I suspect it might have been the piece of spaghetti outside his door that brought him out (the smell of warm spaghetti).

A little photo of him in his food bowl - he clearly didn't like the phone just inside the cage door as turned round after that so I could only see his back end.

After hearing about Orko taking a pumpkin seed I decided to try that - and Pip took a pumpkin seed from my fingers! This is the first time he's ever taken food from me in the cage.

He then ran down to his rainbow bridge and sat under it snacking the food he had pouched. A little video of that below. After that I thought I might try him with some sunflower seeds on the palm of my hand. I was pushing my luck there! He did come near my hand and sniff them but backed off again so I put most of them down in front of him. He then ran up his ladder again to his food bowl, so I thought I'd try offering a single sunflower seed in my fingers. That was really pushing my luck! He made his feelings known by seeing me off my hand - ran right past my hand, brushing against it, and into his house. Which made me jump!

I’ve only just caught up on Pips videos, wow he moves fast!! Like Beryl said it’s almost like the Robos are on fast forward, he’s super cute. Fantastic that he took the seed from your hand today too, lovely that he feels comfy enough to just sit whilst your hand is inside his enclosure.
 
Aww, Pip looks so cute snacking under his bridge. Great he took a seed of your fingers but made it very clear that once in a while is quite enough.

Something I have noticed. He doesn't seem to do a startle reaction. If he doesn't like something he just turns his back! Whether that's because he's a Robo or whether it's because he's older now and used to me I'm not sure. After I photographed him in his food bowl he just sat there but then turned his back. When he was under the bridge and I did the video, a light came on on the phone (presumably because it was dark and I don't understand the settings!). He didn't flinch at all and still sat there snacking - but then turned his back again).

So I'm guessing he's quite relaxed these days but just letting you know he doesn't like something!
 
He does sound relaxed & comfortable with things, and knows his own mind too! I’ve had the turning the back to you thing quite a lot with both Chineseys & Russians at times, I just think it’s hamster for go away now human!
 
How wonderful Pip took a seed from you! He is brave to just turn his back. Orko runs away instead. Pip looks adorable under his bridge.😍
