One very clean Otto came to his door so i quickly put his mat down (he doesn't like to walk on bars) and he came out. First stop was the bathroom corner where he leaves a few poops and then he runs off to play.

It is the soft toy hide Lilly likes to sleep in. Clive hated it and bit its tail before pulling it about.Whats that thing at the back? Looks like a soft toy
It was in one of the small cages i collect for recycling and survived the washing machine so kept it for the freeroaming area.

He comes out every evening unless i'm at work overnight. Once he gets going he can run really fast.

They all are really good. If one gets caught out they go to the corner in the bathroom or the communal sandbath. Clive used to leave the odd paddle on the bathroom floor as his illness progressed. I keep babywipes handy. There's also a sand corner toilet in the digbox.

Otto had a major huff on tonight. He never sits in a hide but was in a right strop tonight.
He did eventually snap out of it and he's running on his wheel now.

No, it's not that. For a few days there was a stale smell about his fur and Otto doesn't normally smell.
While he was out i decided to clean his burrowing area and took the substrate out. Clean in one tub and smelly in the bucket.
The little git is getting lazy and i found a pee spot. Not much but enough to make some of the hoard smell mouldy. He uses a toilet but i think he's older than i thought and drinks a fair amount.
Of course he wasn't happy, climbed up a basket and jumped into the tub with the clean bedding. I left him in there and put the bedding back in then took him out. He then tried to climb into the bucket with the smelly bedding but i lifted him out because he was smelly enough.
Topped up his cage with fresh bedding and put him back in and that's when he had the strop on.
He's alright now and running around on the floor again.

Aww Otto! He really didn’t like you interfering with his smelly stuff! Glad he settled down & got over it quickly enough anyay.

Sometimes i feel sorry for my OH over the way the hamsters treat him, mainly the two Syrians Otto and Eric, lol.
OH feeds and talks to them but won't let them out which they are very aware of. They don't like it and they let him know.
OH told me that last night Otto sat by his door and when Otto saw him he turned around and sat with his back to him! How rude of Otto.
And Eric downstairs chewed the bars demanding to get let out. OH walked over to chat to him and Eric looked at him then stomped off in disgust!
I wished i could find another Betsy who absolutely adored my OH. She ignored me though, lol.

He just goes and talks to his little mate Eddie who will always say hello and meerkat for a treat.
