The one at Happy Henry's homes looks good. I wish I had got that now as it looks better made than the skyline one. I went for a second skyline one and it doesn't fit together - and covered in splinters. I missed out on sending it back so will maybe see if I can do some sanding at some point. It's big enough to fit inside and completely escape proof.

I would need to get two I think as that is smaller then his cage. Good suggestion though. I will try and save for that. :)

Can you connect two together then?

I don't think you can if it's like the one I have, but I might be wrong. Mine is like a jigsaw but it would only fit the four pieces together as an oblong. Maybe it wouldn't matter if it's smaller than his cage - it's still big enough to fit inside. But he did seem to like all the space in your current one.

Good point. It is such a brilliant design I just think it will be too small for him. I emailed to ask Happy Henry Homes if it is possible.

I have seen some people buy pieces of plywood and Velcro them together to make a playpen but that will be very expensive for me and I would not know how to get them to stand upright.

I wonder if a ground sheet would work. Fold it up on the outside and fasten with strong velcro.

It's a shame, when you want something convenient and easy to fold away, to have to start adapting it though.

Thank you both. I will have a think about it. Looks like the Happy Henry Homes will work better in terms of being escape proof.

I just looked at the playpen. The connectors have feet which cause the gap. Are the feet or end pieces on both ends or could they only get placed on the top only so the base of the panels is flash?

Just got home and watched the videos. Orko looks so relaxed and is clearly enjoying himself.

I still think that there is a way of robo proofing this playpen and am also thinking along the lines of door draft excluder strips.

Totally understand the fright little Orko must have given you x 4 by escaping. Been there a few times myself with various hamsters.

The connectors are all along and without them it would not be stable and he would push his way under.

Draft excluders sound good but I wonder how it would be attaching them.

I have something in mind but don't know what they're called. Need to have a look at a B&Q or Wickes.

I have been issued a refund for the playpen and ordered a pop up ball pit for the time being. I read the playpen thread and saw Beryl has used them before. This one has some reviews of people using it for their robos. It is due tomorrow. I was in a rush to get Orko something in case he feels like coming out.

Good that you got a refund. He might find the ballpit not very large but it should be quick solution.

I suspect so as it is 110cm by 57cm. This is better then the cardboard box but not ideal.

Just catching up with your thread RainbowBrite. Sounds like Orko had a great time. How are you?
