I use the inexpensive Ferplast sin guinea pig size (hamster size is way too small) houses and buy them for around a tenner.

Thanks that is around the price I was looking forI use the inexpensive Ferplast sin guinea pig size (hamster size is way too small) houses and buy them for around a tenner.
Okay yes thanksI would not buy that personally as it says it is from China and they do not often use safe wood. I really recommend happy Henry homes multichamber hides and you can even buy stilts with them.
Okay thanksYes that looks large enough to me and even says suitable for Syrians.![]()
Cleo will love it.Okay thankswill be getting that
I’m sure she will currently she makes a nest in her tiny house and also pees in there. It will be better for her in a bigger house.Cleo will love it.![]()

ok thanksThe corner one is a great idea - I'm not sure how well it will fit in a cage base that slopes - I can see it would work well in something like a tank with flat sides as it would go right up to the edge so it was enclosed.
It would probably still work in a cage like the plaza but if sat on top of the substrate it would be open at the back. So it would need to be on the floor of the cage as a subterranean house, with substrate behind it.
I've looked at that one before and wished it had a back on it!
Annoying that the ebay one didn't say what the wood is as that looked ok too.
This one looks ok as the house has a back. But not much cheaper than the multichamber house

oh okay thank you! I’m sure the wood will be okay. There's actually a thread about various houses on here - there's a long one on Amazon that AJ on here has. So it has one long room with a door at one end, which works well. The litter tray can go at the door end and the hamster nests at the other end in the dark area.
Although actually that one doesn't say what wood it is either!

New houses
I've seen a few new houses for hamsters recently. This one looks interesting (there is also a 3 room corner version). https://www.amazon.co.uk/Episkey-Wooden-Hamster-Hideout-Accessories/dp/B0B84ZWMKF/ref=psdc_340841031_t3_B09Q8DTLX6?th=1 This one looks the same as the Ferplast Sin but a...www.thehamsterforum.com
okay thanks!Getzoo do a range of houses too. They have a corner one too, but it's a similar price. But they also do this one which is much more reasonably priced and a good size.
You might need to use google translate to read things on the site! They ship to the uk though.

Ok thank you for your helpThe getzoo one works out at £16.39 (converted from euros) - presumably there is postage on top as well though. Their wood is all safe plywood like Rodipet and Happy Henry's. Solid pine is ok too.
I also used this one for our syrian originally - it's a nice house - not too big not too small. It's solid pine and a reasonable price. It has a really large door though as it's supposed to be for guinea pigs - so it helps to put a bendy stick bridge over the door to make a tunnel entrance
