Oh thank you so much!! Please let me know if they replyI just posted on Amazon to ask the seller what type of wood it is![]()
oh okay then, maybe I will buy the more expensive one once I save up the money lolI would also be a bit cautious without knowing what wood it is. I bought some shelves on amazon that said some kind of wood. Someone had asked what wood and the seller said pine. They definitely weren't pine. When I got them they had the odd little bit needed sanding and the wood had a very strange smell when sanded. I didn't like it and wasn't comfortable with it without knowing what it was.
It will last longer aswell probably if you spend moreoh okay then, maybe I will buy the more expensive one once I save up the money lolit will probably be worth it if you know itโs 100% safe
okay thank you for the infoOk so what's the safest cheapest optionProbably that guinea pig house I linked. It is actually quite tall as well, so instead of having it on legs, I had it on the bottom of the cage (so it was stable) and filled the inside with substrate so there was still plenty of height inside the house, but also substrate underneath them, for burying hoards. The Plaza is taller though so there would still be quite a bit of height above the house doing it that way. To have a house higher up so it's like a shelf, it needs to be on legs really. But you could always have a shelf or two over it as well.
Cheapest option is probably this! No legs needed, sits on top of the substrate as it's light, hamsters like chewing the hay off the inside. No plastikote neededGood size inside - could do with a bendy bridge over the door.
It's basically a cardboard house with hay stuck on. Anything with hay on it's a good idea to freeze for a week first - to ensure it's bug free.
