Hello everyone, I've just joined the forum, I'm from Italy and I have a 5 month old male syrian hamster. His name's Topolino, which is "small mouse" in italian and which also the name of "Micky Mouse" here in Italy.
Topolino is a rescue from a local wild animals shelter and he's been with me only a week.
Before him I had a very sweet and very lazy male syrian hamster, who passed away in May. He too was a rescue, but I was fortunate enough to adopt him when he was only 26 days old, he was my baby.
Before these two I had a "dwarf" period, when I adopted 4 russian /winter white hammies over a 12 years time span. Again, all of the were rescues.
I only developed an interest in hamsters at a very mature age
which is highly unsual in my country because hamsters are unfortunately considered only second-rate childrens' pets.
I'll add some photos soon
