Flower Power

That’s such a shame about the roses Coco, any buds left for some late ones?

Just went outside to check but nothing left on that plant.
Unexpectedly, just further down this rather tall spindly stem had a new flower on top! Behind it on another stem under the leaves of next door, much higher up, another bud can be seen. So that was delightful to find.

We have a lot of hazelnuts that fell off the hazelnut tree this year. Must pick them up tomorrow and keep them for the hamsters.

Our neighbours have a walnut tree and the squirrels love eating (and burying) the green walnuts. They drop the shells all over our garden while eating the nuts but I love squirrels so I can forgive that :)

I didn't even know you could grow hazelnuts in the Uk! Or that we had hazelnut and walnut trees!

I planted the hazelnut bush over 20 years ago because i liked the twirly branches. Probably got it at a plant or boot sale. It grew into a large tree. I keep chopping it back which seems to make it grow even more. It took a few years until it grew hazelnuts. I originally thought it was some ornamental plant and was surprised when i saw the hazelnuts. I've always eaten them and gave them to the hamsters as well.

Planning on cutting the grass tomorrow so had to pick up the hazelnuts.

Wow, that is a lot of lovely hazelnuts! Assume they take a long time to grow and start producing? I want one!

Fog! Why does it have to be one extreme to the other?! Thick fog here this morning, Definitely cooler as well.

Weird isn’t it, a bit foggy here today too, I went from having all the fans on to being really cold all day yesterday!

Ugh I definitely don't like fog.

Still quite a lot of flower power on the go in spite of the weather, there were some lovely bees about earlier but I missed them as I didn’t have my phone with me, too busy getting wet & muddy!

Those are beautiful. Is the first one Zak's plant? I can see the second are fuschias. Third and fourth look familiar but not sure what they are :)

Yes the first one is Zak’s plant, can’t believe how it’s grown & it puts a smile on my face every time I pass it.
The yellow ones are my Clematis that I grew from seed many moons ago!

Ah that's it! Knew I recognised them. There are so many types of Clematis.
