Flower Power

My garden used to look like an obstacle course but i'm in the middle of preparing for my retirement in February so the garden is getting a major scale down this year. Anything that died won't get replaced.
There are some real survivors here that are growing like mad, especially the Hollyhocks i think that's what they are called.

That’s a beauty Coco!

This is the same flower a few minutes ago.
Night night Poppy - see you in the morning!

So many fantastic photos, it's such a lovely time of year when all the plants are thriving. I love a bit of gardening but am no specialist, I just kinda wait to see what happens 😆. I have some alliums and the peonies are out? At least I think that's what they are.

Thank you, they were one of our good finds when we started to uncover a very over grown garden after moving in. It was so overgrown we didn't realise there was a pond until we started cutting all the shrubs back.

Lovely photos, alliums are another of my favourites too.

I would have loved finding a pond it sounds like a lot of work but so exciting to find unexpected things in amongst all the tangles

This morning Poppy has a new friend. Soon there should be a respectable crowd.

As i'm not a gardener and can't tell a weed from something that has been planted (by me?) a flower is always a surprise.
Weeds are just flowers growing in the wrong place 😉

The big poppies are out. My neighbour has a deep red one and here's an orange one in our garden.

Today Poppy has more friends joining her in the sunshine with more due any day now.

Also some yellow roses have come out now.
The flower pot tray on the ground is there with water for my pair of robins to drink and splash in. We haven’t had any rain here for ages. Beyond that, though hard to see, is my struggling fuschia. It is putting up new growth at ground level now and doing well but higher up you can make out how we had to cut it down.

Lovely bright colours Coco. I also had to cut down a fuschia. Let's hope they'll grow and flower.

Sorry to hear your fuschia has suffered in the extreme cold this winter Beryl.

The new shoots are growing now but are close to the ground so any flowers may be at ground level rather than dropping down from above head height. But H wants to leave things alone now for this year to see what nature manages to do by itself.

The roses & poppies look lovely together Coco, really glowing in the sunshine but we do need some rain!

I keep forgetting to check my fuchsia, must go & have a look, I remember thinking it was dead last year but it came back to life really late & did well so there is hope.
