There is a small plastic hide in Topaç's cage that he pees in(he sometimes eats his seeds in there). I didn't notice pee there for a while and thought that he had stopped. After not cleaning it for a while, I saw a small puddle inside when I checked it again. Unfortunately, the pee had soaked into the plastic left a smelly white stain. I looked it up online and apparently it needs a special type of cleaning product. Can I leave the hide inside or would throwing it away and getting another hide be more practical. I have another shoebox laying around that I can use.

I get them on the floor of my guinea pig cage. Apart from washing during normal cleaning you don't need to do anything. If you replace the item, they just come back. I don't think they do any harm once they've had a wash ❤️

You could try giving the stain a squirt with white vinegar, leaving it to stand for a while, and then washing it in soapy water. I found white vinegar dissolved crusty sand stains stuck on a ceramic toilet when I couldn't scrub it off.
