Day 5
I woke up to Thunderstorms but at least it’s cooled down a lot.
Nibbles would not get out of the playpen last night, very naughty. He turns is back on me and starts grooming. I had taken the wheel out, as he was lying on the hemp mat, I thought it would be easy.
Three in the morning, me in my nighty crouched down begging him to climb in the taxi must be quite a sight
It took me half an hour to persuade him. I would love to know what’s going on in that little hamster brain.

I made my self a proper meal tonight a cowboy fry up, we used to eat this when we went to a rodeo. I just left the steak out and added broccoli
I am going to look like that stuff if I carry on eating it every day
The organic broccoli are currently on offer, and Nibbles only gets a tiny peace so I am forced to join in

It looks great. Potatoes and beans are a nice combo. Yes, I eat more broccoli (healthy) because Polo the guinea pig likes a small piece every day

Last night my hair had come out of the bun and it was dangling down. Nibbles was very interested in my hair, he kept grooming it with this claws and sniffing (it had been washed that day ).
He was very exited about my hair, as usually it’s in a bun or ponytail.
He looked at me as was chattering, probably thought: look what the cat dragged in! Get yourself a comb mum!

It looks great. Potatoes and beans are a nice combo. Yes, I eat more broccoli (healthy) because Polo the guinea pig likes a small piece every day

They do lay the rules but at least broccoli is nice.
I didn’t use to like it

Nibbles was up an hour earlier today i put a little wooden box in front of the door so it’s easier for him to climb in the taxi. Days ago he would have freaked out, today he sniffed it first but the urge to get out was bigger than his apprehension and he climbed on the box and was surprised how easy it was to get out! No more kicking his little back legs and struggling. He is so sweet
So his night sleep over in the pen didn’t bother him at all!
His nest is already stinky again, so the en-suite was most likely not accepted. I will check later and make his bed fresh.

But Mum, it makes my cage smell hammly, you never know, there might be girl hammies out there

Nibbles a girl will only come if you learn to behave
And I don’t think a girl would appreciate you stocking up food in your toilet

His nest was surprisingly clean, it was the en-suite what was stinky so much easier to them, so that corner toilet was a great investment
This is two days after a good clean

Hi aunty Socks mum mum has got very long fur, she must be a teddy. It smelt so good like apples I liked it, made me very exited. I thought maybe I could steal some, but she took it away
I used my en-suite toilet like a big boy I like it there, I can store my snacks and eat them. I also save a bit of poop for a rainy day. I spit it on the wall, I am good at aiming now. Maybe mum will buy me a bigger house? I could make a spare room for you to come and visit me. Oh and I will put a peanut and some nuggets in there for you and the pigges. Do you sleep together or do I need two more rooms? I tell mum later

No Nibbles, sorry but i will not buy the six bedroom house for 80,- € and Socks Mum and the piggies won’t fit in there

Originally I thought of building a mch myself, I have got the wood but soon realised I would need more tools. For the holes and for sawing the wood. It turned out cheaper to buy the three bedroom house. I tried making one out of cardboard but failed miserably

I can’t believe my luck:
I just went to make a cup of coffee and saw that Nibbles was not in his nest. He actually got up to go to the en-suite! His miniature storage ins now underneath his nest, as it always used to be hopefully it will no longer be stained by his pee. It’s unbelievable that he has learnt so fast

It's great he's using it I've used various multiroom houses over the years and sometimes it does depend on the layout of the house and the toilet being in the right room! As to whether it gets used or not. It's also common for them to put extra special treats in the toilet or put some hoard in there, but you can train them out of that sometimes. Obviously anything in the toilet has to get thrown away when the toilet is emptied, if pee'd on, but then you can put a small handful of food next to or nearby the toilet when you put it back. It can take a few goes before they start putting it next to the toilet themselves!

It's so funny when they go for your hair Mine used to be long and I had the same thing sometimes. Higgins likes to play tug of war with my dressing gown cord.

Yes I am very pleased. I had to find a solution as he does not leave the burrow or mch during the day. The burrow is under the second chamber, has been since day one.
He used to pee in the nest and I had to clean it regularly as that’s where his hoard is and also cause of the ammonia
So now it’s far easier to clean as I only have to lift the lid and I also check the nest just in case

Yes they do seem to find hair fascinating.

Thank you for the invitation Nibbles The guinea pigs are not really friends anymore and would not be able to share a room. Also they have very big poops, dry, but large Your Mum says you are a very intelligent hammy and I agree. Intelligent, handsome and charming
