I've just been to a garden centre with a good pet section and came across two new flavours of whimzees. New to me anyway.

I think the green is spinach, red is tomato, brown is beef but i don't know what the beige and cream coloured ones are.
Beige could be chicken but i have no idea what the cream one is.

Does anyone know? I'm just curious.

Hmm. I've always had a selection and have always had the first four colours but not the beige one. I thought they were all vegetable based and no meat. I've just dug out my packet (which I've just finished - it had a long best before date and I;ve had it a few years).

Composition: Potato starch, glycerin, powdered cellulose, lecithin, yeast, malt extract, lupine. Additives: Natural colourants (paprika 0.1%. Alfalfa extract 1%).

So basically they're all the same - vegetarian - apart from different colourants. Assume the green one is the alfalfa coloured one and the orangey one the paprika coloured one. But there were only three colours in my bag - green, red/orangey colour and the darker beige one.

The colours on my packet don't represent the ones that were inside though.

Looking at your photo again, the colours in my bag were, left to right, the first two and the fourth one (I think! I can't remember exactly as only have the beige ones left!)

It's interesting though as I wonder what the smell is that makes the hamsters go bonkers for them.

I think I may have solved the mystery. Perhaps they are a different brand. This brand has more colours.

Oh well spotted Rainbow. I've had the Antos ones before, when Whimzees weren't so easily available in the Uk. I think they're virtually the same though. Whimzees are made by a Dutch company, Paragon. Antos seems to be a different manufacturer but also from the EU. Which is strange as Whimzees were mainly sold in the US initially!

And you've just reminded me I need to get more!

So this garden centre sold another, cheaper brand from a whimzee box!
They were 25p each which is the normal price for a xs whimzee but this brand is 16p per xs chew.

Maybe they actually are Whimzees? There are also some with white bristles that look different - very confusing (I think that's the medium size though). I've used both the Antos and the Whimzees and they like both - virtually identical. I just ordered a multipack online but couldn't just get the toothbrushes, it had a variety in - including the alligators. I am looking forward to seeing Raffy with an alligator ha ha. I like the toothbrushes best because you can stick seeds in the bristles which keeps them occupied and a bit of a break from routine.

Dunno. They were sold as whimzees. I always buy them loose but usually in the big shed petshop.
I went to a garden centre for gardening gloves.

I would like to buy them loose but we live out in the sticks :). Hope you found some gardening gloves. They probably are Whimzees. The big boxes they sell on Amazon are the ones pet shops usually get and then sell them individually out of the box.

I suspect this is the case because I searched for a while and could not see any whimzees that came in those colours. It was only when I had the thought it could be a different brand that I found other brands that do the colours you bought.

Just as well i only bought 5 and thank you for the detective work.

The green whimzee was always the favourite here.

I was just wondering what your hamster thought of the fake whimzees? :)

I couldn't bring myself to give them the fakes.
Aw they are perfectly fine! The Antos ones are virtually identical. I've used them before :)

I felt exactly the same - suspicious about them lol. That's if they are the antos ones, but it you don't know if they are I can understand the caution.

Just wondered if anyone had seen the sea creature chews which are basically the same thing as the antos ones but something a bit different if any ham fancies a nautical theme!
Meri had a seahorse which she loved & even though I’m sure it was longer than her managed to drag into her house to keep it safe by her nest & very quickly had it’s head chewed off!
The starfish looks good too, they are quite large & you can’t choose which one unless you message the seller with your order but if mine are anything to go by they would be much enjoyed.
Rat rations sell them

or they’re cheaper at the rat warehouse
