What does your hamster go absolutely crazy for?!

As in what makes them shake with excitement when they see it appear?! Higgins gets very excited about half a walnut. Tino seems to go crazy for his mini forage box!

Cheese! Blossom has only had it for her birthdays, but it gets wolfed down immediately!! She did spot a particularly large cornflake on her log, and scuttled off very excitedly with it to her larder in her nest

Louet went mad for peanuts. They were his handling treat. I had to have it at the ready though, coz if I wasn’t fast enough he’d nibble at my fingers…….. just to check they weren’t the peanut

Only very gently. It really did feel like he was thinking ’hmmmmm, supposed to have peanut by now. Where is it? Could this be it? Nope. Well where is it?’

Socks used to wash himself from head to toe if I touched his coat. I think if he accidentally nipped me he would be looking for a way to brush and rinse

Doesn’t it feel slightly insulting when they do that? I mean, I don’t smell that bad, I showered this morning and all!

Chumley does this! He will 'tolerate' a stroke while distracted and then have to go and sit in his coconut hide and spend a good 5 mins washing my clearly horrible smell off himself haha.

Robin gets excited for pea flakes and pea pods.

Luna likes fenugreek sprouts, walnuts, pecans, and arugula. Peanut is still on the fence about fenugreek, but completely agrees with Luna about the rest; his faves are walnuts and carrots.

She sounds like he has gourmet tastes, liking arugula! Carrots surprises me - it's usually been the least favourite veg with my hamsters - some of whom wouldn't even eat it!

Blossom will happily munch on carrot. She's also partial to broccoli and cucumber.

It used to be freeze-dried chicken, but since we began trying carrot baby food from the squeeze packs, it’s that now.

I think I need to try some of these ideas. Oaky has been a cool customer for most foods, while our last hamster was a total foodie! He went crazy for broccoli.

I use thin slices of thawed frozen baby carrots. I have heard no complaints from the hammies

My first two were snow pea fans. My current two won't eat them, even though they are from the garden fresh. No accounting for tastes....
