Twinkle 🥰

There may well be! PayPal do a pay over 3 months option too if needed. According to several people on various Facebook groups, the ones from Temu are legit ones and can sometimes go up at pretty decent prices especially if you put it in your basket and leave it for a while, they'll give you a discount to encourage you to buy. I'm not an enormous fan of supporting sites like Temu but sometimes you've gotta do what you've gotta do!

Neither am I, but I believe it was the only place to get hold of them recently, as Amazon stopped stocking them for a while - but they have them in stock again now.

Well..I feel absolutely awful. I've been working really hard with Twinkle and things had been going so well. She was accepting treats from my hand inside the cage, she was learning to hop into a jug, get a treat and then be lifted up and put back for a treat. I thought she was ready to explore a little on the bed. Spoiler, she absolutely wasn't. At all. She was up and about just now so I figured why not try, since she was happily accepting treats.

The second she stepped out of the jug and onto my bed, she bolted blindly in any direction she could. I managed to catch her and got her onto my lap in the hopes of reaching for the jug, nope, off she went like a bar of soap almost getting off the bed, in the end I abandoned the jug and managed to scoop her up and pop her back into her cage.

I am absolutely covered in urine, hopefully all hers 🤦‍♀️ she frightened the life out of me, but clearly not as much as I did her. And what's worse is even in all her terror, not once did she so much as squeak or even attempt to bite me, I had resigned myself to get bitten pretty badly at that point because my first thought was "what if she gets off the bed and the cat finds her before I do!?" So keeping her in my hands was the biggest priority. But she didn't even try!! She's such a sweet, gentle little hamster and I frightened the living daylights out of her.

Aw don't worry :-) She'll get over it. My Robo Pip was like that first time in a playpen. He dived under a hide and squealed loudly non stop. I also felt terrible. I then lifted the hide up and talked to him and he stopped squealing and started exploring things a bit and found something to nibble.

Maybe a small playpen would work to start with until she's used to being out of the cage - or the bathtub? It's probably the wide open space that scares them at first.

I think it will have to be the bathtub to start with! She's a strong little thing, I'd be worried she would knock a playpen over, especially the one I have for the dwarf 😅
I'm ever so impressed with her for not biting though, what a good little girl.
I realised after that I had just changed everyone's water bottles, I wonder if I had a smell on my hands of Lavender or Rocket and Basil the gerbils 🤦‍♀️ it didn't even occur to me at the time.

The Omlet playpen is about £70 and is easily big enough to sit in and have lots of room for toys etc. It's easy to fold for and store too. Ah, it's scary being small. I'm sure she will forgive you quickly ❤️
