So how many days is it now? 6th day? Another gloriously sunny day here and hot. We are lucky there is always a very slight breeze where we live. So it’s never too unbearably hot.

It’s still difficult getting to slerp with it though, and last night in the middle of the night, there was thunder and lightning woke me up. A noise woke me and I thought we were being burgled at first - it sounded like a vehicle outside. Then a flash and I thought- definitely someone out there! And then louder and more flashing across the sky and I realised it was thunder and lightning. Just to add to it, the smoke alarms in the bedroom went bananas giving out piercing noises. It does that when the battery needs changing - so had to get OH to take the battery out.

We actually ran out of water yesterday! Spring water supply. It’s gradually filling up again with a trickle but means watching usage for now.

Oh no, I hope you get some rain. In parts of the county where I live they already have water shortage. Luckily I live in a bath town with its own mineral water (a very well known brand) so we are always supplied with lots of water 💦 but we are noticing a few empty shelves in the supermarkets. It’s due to many haulers closing down due to the high energy and personnel costs.

It’s working again now - as long as no one has a big bath. Reminds me how we used to have to share the bath water as children 😂. Apparently it’s due to rain in Sunday. Temperatures here are less hot for the next few days, which is a shame as I could have got a load of bedding dried quickly if it stayed really hot.

That’s the good thing about the heat, washing is dried in no time!
My mum used to have to share baths with her sisters and brothers 🥴 she was lucky to be the eldest, first the toddlers got the fresh water and then my mum carrying on down the line. Her younger brother used to say: I am not getting in that stew 😅
Sometimes we forget how hard life was in the 1940s
I would love a bath though I hate showers, but you don’t get many baths in Germany in this time

Water has dried up again. So that's my washing stuck in the machine! I think we will just have to "top and tail" until the rain comes on Sunday!
