I hope you don't mind hamster forum friends but I've got another question. Is groundnut oil okay to use to stop a wheel from squeaking? https://groceries.asda.com/product/coconut-seed-nut-oil/asda-groundnut-oil/35915

Thank youOf course we do not mind! Please feel free to ask anything you like. I think any edible oil is okay to oil a wheel.![]()

Savic rolly wheel.Which wheel does Albert have?
Savic rolly wheel. I've used the groundnut oil and it's working lovely now.I used olive oil on our flying saucer. I wiped it really well so there was no residue but it still had our Syrian madly investigating the underside and trying to lick it. It was more to stop it being stiff than to stop it squeaking, as it wasn't squeaking. Which wheel do you have?
Albert has also got another wheel. It's the pets at home silent wheel.Oh yes, the Savic Roly comes with the Hamster Heaven. See how it goes but you may have to upgrade it. They can get quite rattly.
Thanks I'll check out the thread.Yes, i bought this petsathome wheel when i needed a wheel instantly for a rescue dwarf who was stopping over. Haven't used it since though. Like you, i find it a bit on the small side.
Our two dwarfs have the 9in Silent Runners with the cage attachments so i was able to attach them to the bars of their Hamster Heavens. They are great wheels and silent. One of our dwarfs lives in our bedroom.
A cheaper alternative could be the 21cm Trixie wheel but Trixie's quality is a bit hit and miss these days.
There's a thread on different wheels here as well.
