I have some spider wood I originally got my aquarium that's been sitting around. I'm seeing a lot of debate on it, mainly on Reddit. Some say it is safe, others say it is not! What is the verdict on spiderwood? I'd love to use what I have so I don't have to buy more wood. This is the wood in question - https://zoomed.com/spider-wood/

It's not on our list either as being safe or unsafe! ie not on the lists at all :-) Perhaps it should be ......... It seems to be derived from the roots of Azalea plants, which are toxic to hamsters, so I would say it's not safe and best to use something else - sorry.

Have attached our list of safe and unsafe woods :-)

I've added Spiderwood to the unsafe list after discussing with Daisy as well :-)
