Spiderwood safe or not?

I have some spider wood I originally got my aquarium that's been sitting around. I'm seeing a lot of debate on it, mainly on Reddit. Some say it is safe, others say it is not! What is the verdict on spiderwood? I'd love to use what I have so I don't have to buy more wood. This is the wood in question - https://zoomed.com/spider-wood/

It's not on our list either as being safe or unsafe! ie not on the lists at all Perhaps it should be ......... It seems to be derived from the roots of Azalea plants, which are toxic to hamsters, so I would say it's not safe and best to use something else - sorry.
