Beryl, my heart goes out to you. I am so sorry but it is lovely to know what an amazing life you gave Rory. He was so happy with you. The vet sounds lovely too which helps so much. I am sending you a virtual hug.

I am so sorry. Your vet sounds very good and there was no other option with a brain tumour and he was starting to suffer. It is true Metacam has it's limitations. Big hugs.

I always put cages away and rearrange things so its obtically not too obvious that one is missing.
I couldn't bring myself to throw out Rory's favourite tunnel so cleaned it and put it in the playground.
Some of his things will stay because i don't want to remove his scent.

Oops, Jack just had to brake full sprint so had to adjust the new floor layout.

Rory had a presence and i need a framed photo of him in this room.

Thank you Zara. Yes, he will be missed. Rory became more interactive with humans as he got old. Hamsters are often like that. They come to the door for a stroke and sometimes they ask for our help.
