Raffy really makes me laugh! He is so determined to go to the places he is not meant to! He looks so cute in his dig box and on his wheel.

He only does it if I've not let him out the night before! It's an attention-seeking protest I think.

That’s really clever of Raffy to figure out a way over the barrier like that! He makes me laugh too, the way he always makes his feelings known.

He always looks happy! It's why he's so adorable. He has that happy cheeky look all the time. His whole body language is happy and cheeky.

Except when he's miffed of course at being left in the cage for a night - then he's cheeky and maverick.

I have only just got round to getting my bag of Little One mix out of the freezer to try it. Seemed like a good time as I'm getting low on Raffy's regular mix (50/50 Harry Hamster and Bunny Dream).

My first reaction is - it looks a bit better than Harry Hamster but not as impressive as the Bunny Dream so I think I'll stick with the Bunny Dream.

Lovely to see Raffy out enjoying his free roam. Great speedy dash towards the sofas too, he’s such a happy fella. No doubt thinking about what mischief he can get up to next to surprise you.

I use the Little One mix in Hams forage tray. He enjoys all the seedy bits. I’ve not tried Bunny dream. Accidentally picked up the Harry Hamster fruity mix instead of tasty mix and that’s a real no no here

Raffy has been coming out later and later since the nights are getting darker earlier - and maybe less warm. Getting up about midnight. He had me up very late a couple of nights. The last two nights I have had long days and went to bed early. So he hasn't been out for two nights. I'm not staying up till midnight when pooped after an early start, so will see what happens! No doubt the flower basket will get a bashing again.

I hope he gets back into a routine that works a bit better for you soon, it has been a lot colder at night here too.
I usually find my hams get up earlier when it gets dark earlier but Syrians obviously have other ideas!
I wonder what mischief he’ll get up to to make up for not getting out for a couple of nights?!

Yes, the sudden drop in temperature keeps them in their warm nests here as well.
The two Syrians get up earlier to go for their freeroams but then go back to their nests.

I'm surprised that Raffy gets up so late knowing fine that he won't get out then. It probably helps when the clock goes back an hour.

It’ll probably be worse when the clocks go back! Last year it was at least midnight every night- sometimes half past midnight. These days I need to get up early so just can’t do such late nights. I may try and get him in the habit of coming out at feeding time but he has always been zonked until he wakes up naturally.

It will be interesting to see if he does come out earlier though if he misses a few nights.
